Dems Slash Feingold Move on Censure from Raw Story
“I just think you know there’s was a concern among a number members of the caucus that this was going a little too far," the staffer remarked. "The majority of the American people agree with what the president’s doing. A lot of people outside the beltway see this as a tool that’s keeping Americans safe."

http://rawstory.com/news/2006/Democrats_slash_Feingold_move_on_censure_0314.html

Cowards.
Snip

Though all say they believe the program warrants "more investigation," several Senate aides rebuked Feingold for proposing censure. They say that his move had the potential to derail Democratic efforts to strengthen the party's image on homeland security issues, noting that a large part of the country believes the eavesdropping program should continue. Bush has defended the program, calling it a "terrorist surveillance" program, and has used aides to defend its legality.

Snip

Strikingly, some of the criticism came from liberal Senate offices.

One longtime Senate aide was particularly scathing.

“Feingold’s grandstanding screwed the pooch and played into Bill Frist’s hands," the aide said. "Thank God Dems punted this down the field. Frist was going to force Democrats to vote on a resolution Feingold had kept a big secret and he would’ve split the caucus on an issue that needed time to get the whole caucus to support. Russ Feingold had only one persons’ interests in mind with his Sunday bombshell, and those were his own. He practically handed a victory to a Bush White House that desperately needs a win.”

Snip

According to the polls I have read, the majority of Americans do NOT support the spying. And, many more would not tolerate it, if the dems came out roaring and united against this illegal behavior.

PATHETIC.

Cowardly.

And, completely the wrong move politically. Go on the attack of this crimimal. How SLOW can you be?!

Any dems that won't support censure (and ultimately impeachment) is a dem I will not support.

1. People aren't going to jump on the Democratic bandwagon until
they can see they're ready to lead, and lead in another direction than we currently find ourselves. Because, if they wanted to continue the course the Republicans are taking, they'll just continue to vote Republican.

I don't believe the article based on this alone. I can't accept that has become a common part of the vernacular.

They don't stand up for what is right when it is popular, or when it's unpopular. Do they stand for anything? I'm sorry. I am just so upset. I wish we could have an entire Congressional "do-over" and start from scratch. Throw them all out and start fresh. :grr: Sorry. I just needed to vent. Do the Dems have "our" backs or just their own? :grr:

I miss my Senator Wellstone.

6. If "a large part of America believes" ILLEGAL wiretapping should continue
...then it is incumbent upon their representatives to educate them on what is LEGAL and what is NOT. Stand up in front of an audience, write an op-ed, DO SOMETHING to explain yourself, and why you're seeking censure, don't just sit back and accept what "the majority" thinks is okay just because they've been lied to about the facts! Counter with *GASP* THE TRUTH, you cowards!

Jesus, what is going on in Washington? I just...don't...get...it!:banghead:

2, these mystery staffers always say untrue Republican talking points.

Any story based on these quotes is FALSE.

10. Democrats Have lost the Plot.........
these comments does not sound like what a Democrats would say, to me this sounded more like what a Troll posing as Democrat will utter, The repugs really do have people in place working hard for them, when the going gets tough they just pushes these button and they spill from their 'Anuses'....they party too much so they tend to be in 'CLOUD LA LA LA LAND'. This is the attitude that is definitely going to get us more votes, I'm sure of that.......FUCKING PLEBS AND DUMB-ASSES there to call themselves AIDE...HA!!

:wtf:
