Will it be possible to roll back all the damage the bush* presidency
has done to our laws, our constitution or are we gonna' have to re-fight all the good fights? Could some or all be rolled back by presidentual directives or will it be only through the house, senate and the courts?

1. Look how long it took to undo the mess that was Reagan
or Hoover . . . and that's peanuts compared to Bush's assault . . .

2. No, it will not be possible
With the current group of spineless, no balls Democrats we have in office now. They can't even agree which is #1 and which is #2 when they go to the shitter - how can they possibly fix the country?

Sorry, I'm just very, very angry at the Democrats right now. They won't support Feingold, they don't have a uniform message, they don't have a plan, they don't have anything.

4. Angry okie here for sure, it seems all they have is their seat
The majority of them that is. We have a few good dems but the number is small. What pisses me off is all the work we have done to better ourselves was all for naught.

13. I was just going to write the same thing
NO.
Don't expect the dems to do much if they get back the power. (In other words if they get back the house/senate... do people really think they will as a group go after the bush admin?? My bet is they wont do much more than yak about it. There will be back room deals letting them off the hook.)
It will be just like the 70's letting the pugs get away with nixon.
I remember being amazed they didnt go for the destruction of the pug party at that time... which is what is needed now to change back from bush.

The total destruction of the Repubs is what is MANDATORY and the wimpy dems will never go that far.
We are fucked and have been for years. All our pressure is basically for nothing except it makes us feel better and holds off dictatorship a little bit.

imo

The world will have changed irrevocably, we have squandered our stature, our influence, our wealth, our security, our futures, and most sinfully, our children's futures. We have screwed up terribly & the worst of it will be that we, the ones who are the most guilty will suffer the least for it.

"Life is, indeed, not fair."

5. How?
The SCOTUS is going to be stacked if one more Lib/Centrist justice goes down, The rePukes in congress are all good little members of the New Nazi Party, the multi-trillion surplus has vanished like Harrry Blackstone's bunny...

We'll be lucky if there isn't an armed insurrection, no matter WHICH PARTY is in charge in a couple of years.

6. You can never regain that which is lost.
The moving finger writes, and having writ, moves on. Nor all thy piety nor thy wit shall lure it back to cancel half a line. Nor all thy tears wash out a word of it.

We can only pick up the pieces, move forward, and try to make ourselves better and stronger for the experience.

the most serious damage that the * cabal has forced upon the USA is the deep division among Americans.

Like most Dems I am not willing to forget or forgive the Repugs for what they have done to our great country..

At this point there is no healthy optimism for this countries future by the American people.

The Dems (us) are stunned at where this country is currently...and how fast we have moved back into the past....

The Neocons are ecstatic because they feel they are on the road to a theocratic nation....

There is going to be a civil war in our own country and I seriously support two America's. (I know it sounds radical but the two sides will never be united again. Let them outsource all of their jobs, let them all lose their health insurance, let them wait in food lines...I have no sympathy for them.....

I am really in a pessimistic mood today!!!

9. Will it be a division east to west, an east america and a west america
I really don't want a civil war or a division. Its looking more and more like al-queda has already won the battle for america. All they have to do now is set by and watch us implode. That sucks and the thought of it makes me nauseas.
not a good speller here, sorry.

11. madokie it makes me nauses too....
The only way that I see a healing of this country is to remove religion from all politics across the land. Religion has destroyed many civilizations and it is currently trying to destroy America....

The Religious fanatics that are a minority have managed to gain control of our goverment...and they are on a drug addled high on power and control of America. They are in an outright attack on Gays, Womens Rights, Civil Rights, Freedom of Speech, Liberal, Freedom to worship any religion....

They are not going to give up without cheating, getting more US citizens and soldiers killed and whatever it takes to keep their contol....One only has to look how Delay is mocked the law....

I don't think people like us on DU and around the country are going to let that happen....

10. I Agree, Except How Will A Civil War Happen?
Red state vs. blue state...odd-numbered side of the street vs. even...city against city?

Now, the two countries I can see. They can have Louisiana, since they bummed out New Orleans; Alaska, since they want to drill oil; Texas, for producing/supporting the idjit....where else?

I just want this administration's mess straightened out SO BADLY, I could bawl.

12. Sure
The country rebounded pretty quickly from Nixon. Who would have thought 5 years was enough time to basically ruin everything Clinton did? If the next president makes it a priority to respect congress and the constitution and is open with the public then the Bush years will fade quickly. Now can we repair the dmamge done to the environment? Can we rebuild our image in the middle east? Can we get back on track in the field of science? I think that damage may take much longer to repair.

15. An article in todays paper states that the carbon dioxide levels in the
atmosphere has reached record levels in '04. I believe rebuilding our image around the world will dictate that we send these war criminals to the Hague first thing. But thats just me.

14. The only way to initiate a quick fix
Would be to prove beyond the shadow of doubt that Bush stole the elections in 2000 and 2004, and that because he wasn't the duly elected President, his SCOTUS nominees (Roberts and Alito) aren't eligible to sit on the bench, and many of his other laws are also null and void due to the fact he didn't truly have the power of the office to perform his duties.

This would take a group of people with strong morals and ethics, and a strong backbone as well, to stand up to the criminals who will object, due to their dirty deeds being uncovered by this investigation.

If Bush isn't really the President, why would any of his actions stand?
