Exactly how tall is shrub again?

I know Jason McElwain is a senior high school basketball player, but either he is real tall for his age or * just comes up short (not for the first time :))

Okay I pulled this from the Washington Post article:

So, is * really 5" taller than this kid?

1. A senior in high school would be 17 or 18 years old. It wouldn't

be unusual for someone that age to be that tall. The average height of men in the U.S. is 5'8 1/2".

2. Well, I will say that this publicity stunt of W's has sure gotten the

coverage. My local CBS station ran it no more than 5 times between 5AM and 7AM this morning!

4. Soledad on CNN just now gushing over Bush

Showing the clip of them walking out on the tarmac. Funny, about 5 words of the story were about the kid, the rest was about "how gosh darn nice Bush was to take time out of his BUSY schedule to see the kid".

BTW I found out Bush has claimed 5' 11". Now if only someone could find out how tall Jason is!

7. Charlie on GMA was gushing about how the President

came to see the boy whose story had "captivated the nation". I, for one, had never heard of the kid before yesterday, so I'm a little suspicious of Charlie's claim.

Shrub's poll numbers are bottoming-out.

This kid and his story has gained overwhelming public attention, respect, and support.

Shrub is only meeting with this kid in hopes of having that good warm fuzzy feeling from the American people rub off on him, making Shrub seem more compassionate, likable, respectable, and popular. If Shrub was still in the artificially inflated 40% range, he would not have met with this kid.

5. Found this from the Buffalo News

"Jason played in the Greece Basketball Association and in CYO for several years as a youngster and fell in love with the sport. His height of 5-foot-6 kept him from making the Athena junior varsity as a sophomore, so he signed on to be the team manager. He has held the same role with the varsity for the past two seasons, doing anything to stay near the sport."

Can't tell if they are saying he was 5'6" two years ago (as a sophomore) or if thats his current height.

He's lied about it for decades, claiming to be 6 feet tall in recent decades, but he's closer to 5'9.

He goes to great lengths to appear taller, even choosing those around him who are short, so as to look taller. He loves to have shorties as his top aides, men and women who make him look big.

I'm sure he wears shoes designed to make him much taller.

If you look at the photo, you'll see where Bush's shoulder is about 3 inches taller than the kid's shoulder. That's your height difference, so Bush is about 5'9.
