"Democrats Are Gun shy ... "
Here is what I hear on the news over and over. Democrats are Gun shy on the matter of impeachment as a result of the blow back (whatever in hell that is supposed to mean) from the Republican attempt in 1998. Yeah, blow back. They took the Presidency in the two succeeding elections and have utter control of the Congress and the courts. There's the reasons we should avoid impeachment.

If the bullshit was any deeper we'd call it a national asset.

1. I think the Democrats should step up and take the bull by the horns.
If they have enough evidence to bring impeachment charges, and I can't see how they possibly couldn't, then bring the charges and let's get the show on the road!

If, on the other hand, they feel they don't have the evidence to support the charge then they should stop with all of the bluster and move on to taking care of business and getting back control of the House and the Senate. That's where the real legislative power rests, not with the Presidency. The Congress makes the laws.

7. I agree completely
They should get the show on the road, and if the Republicans balk at it, then the American people will see them for the corrupt thieves and cowards that they are, and then take care of the lot of them at the voting booth.

The Democrats lack of motivation on this subject places all of them in jeopardy, as it comes across as collusion on their part. They know crimes against the Constitution and the American people have been and are being committed, yet in spite of their oath to protect, they are allowing these crimes to continue.

That makes them just as guilty. The Democrats need to get a backbone and do EXACTLY WHAT THE REPUBLICANS DID. What is happening now is much, much worse than a BJ in the White House!

DEMOCRATS:
DO SOMETHING!

Their are plenty of people on both sides of the argument who would love to exchange flame volleys with you.

3. The Democratic "leaders" are being made a laughing stock in the
press. That's what it looked like to me yesterday while watching the political pundits on TV. They are all saying that the Democrats are "wary" of censure and impeachment because of the public reaction to the Republicans doing the same thing to Clinton.

Hello?? We are talking about two entirely different situations. The Clinton impeachment was a farce. Clinton had upper 60's approval rating. Bush is in the low 30's, if not lower.

5. Maybe they're anthrax-shy?
Or plane crash shy? Frist could easily anthrax them again, as he did to get the original "Patriot" Act passed. And Delay has already sent DHS after a group of uppity Texas Dems who were leaving the state to block one of his dirty votes.

6. Democrats in Congress still don't "get" that they won in 2000 and 2004
and that standing up for us against the right was a winning strategy. The continuing spineless appeasment of the old maids in pants in Congress is the issue and it's why it will be very difficult to convince voters to bother to leave their nice warm houses in November and stand in line to vote.

I've pointed out here that the wedge issue for Democrats is WAGES. That the old maids in pants in Congress are continuing to ignore the obvious tells me that a house cleaning should not only rid of us incumbent GOPers, we need to get rid of a lot of our "own." They've had a nice run, their pensions are ample, and their portfolios fat. It's time for them to go, too.

If you love the way your government is acting, then continue to vote for them. If your government has turned against you, VOTE THOSE BASTARDS OUT, no matter which party they claim.

Yes, there are a few notable exceptions. However, most need to go, my own Senator included.

8. We Have a Better Case For Impeachment...
...than the Repubs did with Clinton. It's time to impeach. I'm tired of waiting. And for those conservatives who think I want to impeach Bush only because I hate him, well you are wrong. I don't go around saying that every President I hate should be impeached. I was very young when Nixon was President. This is actually the first time I have ever called for impeachment. So I don't do this lightly. Bush is too power-hungry & needs to go.

10. One thing to think about...
If Bush is impeached and removed from office, Cheney becomes President AND gets to appoint the Vice President. Heck, it's not beyond imagination to think he'd appoint some far right wingnut and then resign because of "heart problems". At least with B**h in the White House we are dealing with a known entity.
