Dear MSM-addled brother-in-law:
Dear media-addled brother-in-law:

I'm sorry I had to get into politics with you tonight. Yes, I realize you are not as left of center as I am.

But you have to understand that what you say to me -- that the Democrats have no new ideas, that they're too negative and that they're too radical and extremist -- is the sort of thing that the right has pushed for years and years to get out there as part of the public discourse. It's nothing new. And it's not true.

You're right, I don't know what you know or don't know about. But it's hard for me to believe that anyone could have heard what's going on out there and still buy into those lines.

I don't do this for fun and games, you know. I am not into politics because it's high drama. People are dying. People are suffering every day. And people whose lives it doesn't seem to affect keep thinking that because they haven't felt it, they never will.

Dear brother-in-law, with a sister-in-law like me, you just might feel it someday. Maybe not tomorrow or the next day, but there could conceivably come a time when one day my fiance comes home from work and I'm not there. And I'm nowhere. I can't be found, I can't be contacted. And I will never be seen again.

You'd have a hell of a time explaining that to my darling little nieces or their baby brother or sister.

I don't want that to happen, I'm not pushing for it to happen, but there is a point where you have to open your eyes to what is necessary, not just what is politically expedient.

This is a Big. Deal.

People are dying.

And while you may be able to shrug that off, I can't, and that's why I fight, and that's why I educate myself, and that is why I know that you are wrong about this.

Much love,

your witchy sister-in-law

1. You're not witchy - you just live in the reality community
unlike a great portion of America, who have been living in Bush's DreamWorld. Fortunately, because of his complete incompetence and the relentless calls of people like you and I, people are waking up from DreamWorld, more and more every day.

Sometimes I think that God made Bush so incompetent so that he would lose his hold on our nation and we will survive.

2. Yup. People are now dying, and if they start 'disappearing', will
you worry then? WHEN will you worry? :(
