Vermont Paper Embraces Impeachment Push

The Nation
Fri Mar 10, 11:44 AM ET

The Nation -- When five Vermont towns voted for resolutions urging Congress to impeach President Bush, there were many in the media who dismissed the move as purely symbolic. But the local daily newspaper in southeastern Vermont, the 130-year-old Brattleboro Reformer, takes a different view

Five Vermont towns endorse move to impeach the president

NEWFANE, Vt. -- In a white-clapboard town hall, circa 1832, voters gathered Tuesday to conduct their community's annual business and to call for the impeachment of President Bush.

"In the U.S. presently there are only a few places where citizens can act in this fashion and have a say in our nation," said select board member Dan DeWalt, who drafted the impeachment article that was placed on the warning _ or official agenda _ for this year's town meeting.

Reid 'Ashamed' Over Katrina Mobile Homes

Senate minority leader Harry Reid says he was "ashamed for our country" after visiting the thousands of FEMA-owned mobile homes lined up at Hope Airport that have yet to be used as shelters for hurricane victims on the Gulf Coast.

"I can't imagine that we could have a sea of 11,000 mobile homes sitting there, rotting, while people around the country can't find a place to live," the Nevada Democrat said....

the mobile homes for HOW many months... yet there they Still sit. This alone would get you fired in Any regular job situation! Disgusting Incompetence brought to light but Still not rectified.

9. I AM DEMOCRACY!
I AM DEMOCRACY!

I came from a proud family who were willing to sacrifice their very lives. In my early years they carefully nurtured me. My future prospects were healthy and bright, and I grew up with honor.

Now you see me before your eyes, ragged, dirty, abused and invisible to many Americans. Your present leaders have trampled on me, ignored and misused me, as apathetic Americans stand by watching. Your majority in Congress does not protect me.

Underneath the grime and misuse, I still have hope that you won’t let me die!

I AM DEMOCRACY AND I AM HOMELESS!

11. If I see a Texas town do this...
I'll be impressed then. All well and good to show what the people are saying, but municipalities are not going to impeach Bush anymore than a Republican heavy House and Senate are.

If we do not get a majority in November, then impeachment talk will be nothing more than empty bluster. Just like the Alito filibuster. The lack of balls shown by the Democrats in that one made lose all faith that they may have any resolve at all.

18. Go to your City Council meetings, and introduce it
as a citizen, they allow the people to speak before the council matters they wish to introduce into discussion.
