and that is Russ Feingold. The rest will give some sort of gradual withdrawal at best, and only if the Iraqiis are able to handle it. What the fools don't realize is that we have created a civil war, and the longer we stay there the more Americans and Iraqiis will be hurt

1. obama is on FTN right now
he isn't giving a clear answer on Iraq except that he does not support Rep. Murtha's position. :eyes:

4. that is why we are where we are today
We started a war based on a lie, and will NOT admit we were wrong

A lot more people will be killed because of this outrage

5. That so depends on
events on the ground, particularly within the next 6 to 8 months. Personally, I think we'll be largely out of Iraq within a year.

6. Well, everyone else is betting they'll be gone by then.

That's known to be Hillary Clinton's judgment of the situation and Kerry's too. Arguably Feingold is just wasting time and hot air.

7. Oh really...and how's that going to happen, by magic?
Feingold's the only one fighting for both the troops and for democracy. The others are just corporate whores who will cower behind their SUV yellow stickers and blather on about how the problem is that the war's just being fought all wrong. Keep the war $$$$ comin', let's just do it a little differently.

9. .

Collapse of the Iraqi 'government'. The only rationale which keeps this Shia/Kurd alliance 'government' from disintegration is a need to finish off Saddam Hussein. The full outbreak of Shi'ite/Sunni civil war is one major Shi'ite atrocity against the Sunni that retaliates for the Samarra mosque bombing of a similar order of magnitude.

Conceivably, Shi'ites murdering Hussein could fulfill both requirements.

8. that's why I won't vote for 'em....
There is only one acceptable position on the war against Iraq, as far as I'm concerned. Total opposition. Immediate withdrawal, and war crimes prosecution for the Bush admininstration.
