6. It's above St. Genevieve near Chester and passed over Kaskaskia Island...
and there was another tornado near Potosi, I think. Betsy Bruce says trees with 20 to 30 foot diameter trunks were uprooted and twisted near Highway 61. New tornado warnings Washington and Jefferson Cos. (MO) and hail warning near Sullivan.

8. We just had tornados in Washington Co
year before last, tore up a lot of huge trees between Sullivan and Potosi. We had a lot of damage on our farm.

13. Oh no
Do you know if any of the historic structures in the area were damaged?? The first records of my family in this country were from Kaskaskia and Fort des Chartres. I certainly feel for the people too, just curious about the rest...

The sky is a constant blaze of lightning. The rain has not gotten heavy, yet. I'm in a brick house, with a basement, so I should make out o k. Wife & grand daughter asleep in the other room... won't wake them, yet.

11. O K, I'm back. The worst seems to have moved on.
They are talking (satellite tv back on) about some serious hail. All I got was high winds and torrential rain. There's another storm system heating up, about an hour out. Trees down, powerlines down. Some rotation. Gonna be a wild ride, the rest of the night.

12. so what is god pissed off about now?
Oh. It's a red state. I'm guessing that science/weather/whatever happens with or without the chosen god's religion in that area. Maybe I need to know more about the victims to figure out why the thunderbolt destroyed them.

17. Cape Girardeau, MO
Looks like it is getting hit hard now. Hope everyone is safe down there. We'll be driving through there on our way to Memphis Monday.
