I hate WLIB's stream need my Mallloy
It's not just Malloy but Randi. Does anyone have any links to other streams that are real time? Fer chrissakes, if they can't better engineers, I'll move back there to do the job. Mabey I can share an apartment with my niece.

6. I've used the Mike before
Their audio quality isn't that great, but I use it when I needed to. If I remember correctly they don't carry Randi real time though. I only found reliable feeds from WJNO and an AAR affiliate in Key West. They killed it in the Keys when the threw in a local after the second hour.

8. That's been on my bookmarked links for quite a while.
The only problem is they don't offer all possible sources for the show. I'd like to gather the information to provide an alternate stream source if one goes down (Hello? Agent Mike?). I've got alternate sources for some shows, but Randi and Malloy are the tough ones. When you get that close to the truth and as passionate, you're not an easy sell.

9. I'll Agree excellent job
What is missing is an indication of what shows they carry and their time slots. When WLIB goes tits up and I check the other affiliates most of them are time-shifted or carry Sgt. Shultz instead of Randi. I think we're all pretty smart here, but possibly in different ways. The problem I'm trying to deal with is that not all stations carry the same programming and some shift and interrupt the programming. I'd like to know and advise others where to go if their regular stream isn't available or is unreliable. AAR nd other progressive broadcasts are the information lifeline, like DU, that are the new city square. Having those lifelines interrupted without alternatives leaves us less informed than we need to be. I'll admit I'm a progressive radio junky, but I made a commitment to devote all my time to being informed and to share that knowledge with as many as I could.

Sorry for the rant, but guys like benburch offer so much so much to us and I'd like to be able to make sure that the archives are complete and those that can't time-shift can deal with server failures and DOS attacks.

10. benburch is my hero!

I became addicted to radiopower.org a few years ago when I discovered Thom Hartmann and Jim Hightower. :)

Now I am a Mike Malloy junkie. :D

12. SwampRat, The truth will reveal itself
when you are able to see. Hartmann, Hightower, and,Malloy are the ultimat4e Truthtellers. Randi is a Truthteller too, but I get too excited if I see her while trying to digest what she has to teach me. Totally sexist, but I am what I am.

11. Yea, since I've been out of work for while
it probably won't be much. I think it would be great to do a DU buy that could really be seen on the donors page. If half of the DU members put up $1 that would be about $40,000. We could buy quite a few pixels for that kind of green.

...Ten bucks each, (via DU), would almost be enough to buy a strong liberal-progressive AAR station in a much needed area...its only grassroots..and is all we can do...We aren't rich republicans trying to shut up the opposition.

15. I don't defend my unemployment, it was a choice
I worked in electronics and couldn't support an industry that didn't support me. It killed me to not be involved in the process from start to finish. If we can put out something that could burn into the front page, we could raise the money without losing a bit of sleep. What was that link?
http://www.saveairamericaphoenix.com/http://www.saveairamericaphoenix.com/
If we can all commit a few dollars, we could pay for big "face time" on a progressive website/station. Talking with a few progressive radio/web host's, I think you undestimate the cost. All of the AAR nad Jones Radio networks have pretty good distribution, but from what I've heard the time is leased. That may be ok to spread the word, but you make more monry when you own the hardware and sell the time. The current model for AAR is to lease the time on the loccql stations. Not very profitable unless you can make big numbers in the Arbitron books. Phoenix did that in spades. I've been sending a few $ to bartcop and Guy James for quite some time. I'll match that commitment to AAR Phoenix. The only way to be secure is to own the station and have a friendly hand in the FCC. At least we don't have to deal with M. Powell. (F the a**hole!)
