Kneeing Bush (or the closest facsimile) in the groin
We were out doing our weekly shopping at the local farmer's market just now. There's an art-and-framing shop there that had a life-size Bush photo cutout standing at their entrance before the 2004 election (after which they mercifully replaced it with a gold lame Elvis), and for whatever reason, it was back again today.

As we were passing it on our way in, a woman accidentally banged into it with her shopping cart. She reached out a hand to steady it, then said to her companion, "I should have just let it fall. And run over it."

As we passed it again on our way out, a young couple was walking by it. The woman paused, went over to it, kneed it in the groin area, and then continued walking.

That's an amazing amount of anger. The area we live in is a mixture of old-timey small-town conservatives and soccer-mom-type suburban semi-liberals. Not exactly a hotbed of anything. I haven't seen feelings like those since Nixon was on his way out. And it's not just that people are pissed at Bush -- it's that they're willing to act it out in public.

3. Thanks for sharing this....
I honestly think the anger is seething in this country, right below the surface.....the * cabal honestly doesn't have an idea...(it's not like they are observant or anything...5 day warning Katrina....OBL determined to strike US...Dubai ports deal)

Anyhoo....I think we are getting really close....(I don't know what it is but I can feel it...hope it's not just my sinuses I am feeling)

4. I agree, the pot's about to boil over
I can see it in people's faces, the frustration with the representation we're supposed to have but aren't getting. I saw it the other day with a woman in her late fifties scraping off her "W" sticker with an ICE SCRAPER. She was NOT going to drive that car ANYWHERE with that sticker on it. She was ANGRY. People can only take so much before they explode, and I think we're on the verge of that now.

Bush and the Repugs are walking a very fine line right now. I'm not sure they're smart enough to realize it. How many other ports deals are out there waiting to be uncovered? What will next weeks headline be? Will it be the one that finally breaks the Camel's back?

Time will tell.

6. Well the other issue that has been quietly tabled...
is letting foreign companies own our Airlines....there was a blurb about it earlier this week....

If the populace knew that the * cabal was considering this especially after 9/11????

5. For over a year, I've been saying he'll be out by August 2006
based on the timing of Watergate. But I hadn't accounted for the continuous escalation to ever bigger, more visible, and more blatantly criminal scandals. Now I'm fearing I may lose the office pool by predicting too late of a date.

10. It's a 21st century farmer's market
Which means the traditional meat and veggie stands have gotten mixed in with Japanese restaurants and Oriental rug merchants and hippie clothing stores. It's a cool place.
