Gov Ernie Fletcher (R-Ky) hospitalized with clot in Jugular
Remember he had gall bladder surgery recently. It was touch and go for a while because of a blood infection. So he is back in the hospital, control has been turned over to the Lt Governor.

Gov. re-hospitalized for clot treatment (updated!)
By Jack Brammer
HERALD-LEADER FRANKFORT BUREAU
Gov. Ernie Fletcher is undergoing an emergency procedure at a Lexington hospital for a blood clot in his upper left arm.

Fletcher’s wife, Glenna, said the doctors told the governor that he was at “minimal risk” with the clot, according to Brett Hall, Fletcher’s director of communications.

Hall said ramifications of such a blood clot could range from pain to a heart attack or a stroke. But Hall emphasized that an early diagnosis showed the risk is minimal.

Fletcher, 53, felt discomfort in his arm this morning while at home and called his doctor, Hall said. Fletcher met with the doctor about 1:30 p.m. today and was told to go to St. Joseph Hospital for an emergency procedure to try to dissolve the clot, which extended from his upper left arm to the jugular vein in his neck.

1. Sounds like more than a minimal risk to me.

3. They have always
understated his condition.

4. It's too close to the heart...
things like this have to be taken seriously. Normally, they'd go with medication and bed rest, IIRC.

Sounds like they're not taking any chances.

6. He is not a sympathetic individual, but I don't want him to
die or become a vegetable. I want him to survive so he can face impeachment and removal.

8. I haven't heard all that much about him...
but I haven't followed Kentucky politics, either.

I don't want to see criminal escape their punishments either.

9. There is a hiring scandal going on. Ernie and his staff hired
and fired people based on political party, violating the merit laws. People were forced to renounce the Democratic party to keep their jobs.

10. That is obscene!
Just when I didn't think it was possible to surprise me anymore.

11. That's why I want him to recover.
I want him to face a judge.

When some of his staff got indicted, he pardoned all of them, and then extended amnesty for any future action.

5. Fletcher hasn't been having good health luck lately, has he?
I'm suspicious. I agree that they have been understating his condition.

I really hate the guy, but I don't want him to die. I want him to face the music.

7. I wish him luck
but he certainly has presided over a corrupt administration from what I understand.
