So THIS is how they see him (puke alert):

Drinky McDumbass spent 9/11 reading "my pet goat", then running away-yet this his follower's perception of him. Wow. It really is possible to sell them anything.

I've worked with hundreds of other artists over the years, and about 15-20% of them are raving Bushbots. Never would have guessed there would be so many when I was a naive young thing entering art school.

Nothing else on his website looks like a parody.

Can you even begin to imagine anybody having been so infatuated with Clinton as to make a painting like that of him? It would be beyond ridiculous. But we're so used to seeing pictures of Bush like this we just roll our eyes instead of being concerned for the artist's mental stability.

Yes, there are are heroes on the left and posters and such- but I've never seen this sort of weird marriage of mythology, patriotism, hero worship on the left. I think it's unique to far-right movements. The Nazis did alot of that sort of thing, too.

they need a "strong father figure" because the world terrifies them-which partially explains their black and white religious fundamentalism. Their world MUST have absolutes and there MUST be a strong protector who looks after them, and just them, because they're "special".

the homoerotic one (see above) was that it reminded me of the kinds of posters the Nazis used to produce.

The Maoists used to get idolatrous about Mao, but they always portrayed him dressed in his Mao suit and doing something realistic, not as a dragon-slaying ancient warrior or anything like that.

The artist’s website (http://www.mikewimmer.com/frame-prints.html ) does not say this is * , but a representation of "...the awakening of the American people, and the Spirit of Freedom’s cry for justice.”

However, I can’t help but notice:

* How this macho, muscular, alpha-male towers over the diminutive Lady Liberty, as if the notion of Liberty and the ideals of a free country weren’t enough to achieve justice. It just screams chauvinism - geez, he even stole her crown.

* For all the patriotism the artist is trying to portray, he sure doesn’t have a problem depicting someone tarnishing the American flag by using it as clothing.

Just my .02....

He seems to have a fascination with idealizing repugs all around:

The heroic god-man winning in the face of insurmountable odds. Mythically, the hero figure will die / be punished for excessive hubris after his incredible victory.

On the other hand, that's just fuckin' sick.

What's with the "tail" hangin' down from his "liberty crown"?

71. now what does that remind me of, hmm...could it be?

"The logical outcome of fascism is an aestheticizing of political art. . . . All efforts to aestheticize politics culminate in one point. That one point is war. (1930s German propaganda poster.)"

83. That would be really funny if it weren't so scary.
Fantasy entertains us, but fantasizing the idiots in our government as Zeus-like gods is truly demented.

87. If you were standing downtown and looked up
you'd have a great view of his "vienna sausage"..

Reminds me of the band 900 foot tall Jesus, where a guy had a vision of running into a 900 foot tall Jesus in the desert, only he was really embarrassed because he could see right up Jesus's tunic, there was no other way to look at the Lorda..

It looks more like a Saudi Arabian Port Authority Savings Bond they should be coming out with soon..

"DO the Patriotic thing and BUY SAUDI BONDS so that our ports will be Protected from Terrorists!" Maybe it's the best way to deal with the ports really, if you think about it all the really good locksmithes I've ever known were Ex Cons who'd gone straight, they could get into anything, crack any lock..

It would take a Terrorist to catch a terrorist, maybe that's what they were thinking on the port deal...

All artists are crazy, some more than others - this one needs to sit down with a shrink and his daddy, just like Bush..

As a figure drawing instructor, the main problems I see are disproportionately large shoulders-and a miniature bald eagle.

94. Wow, if that is authentic and the artist meant it then
it deserves to be shown to the world. Everyone should see our beautiful propaganda machine! Lil Kim would love to hire Karl Rove.
