Why is that so-called "democracies" are the only nations waging war
invading other people, and occupying other people's land? I can't find one dictatorship that has launched a war in the past decade. Neither Castro, Gadaffi, or N. Korea, or China. What is wrong with this picture?

1. Well, to be fair.
Most of the wars of the past ten years have been civil or regional wars, and certainly many of those involved brutal, undemocratic regismes, if not outright dictatorships.

2. "past decade" is a very brief time, to limited in my opinion.
I mean, what about Hitler (with support from certain US industrials). And the Iraq-Iran war (with support from the US on both sides). Iraq invasion of Kuwait (with permission from the US).

I think i get the point you're trying to make, but it's a bit more complicated than that.

Many of the dictatorships were established by so-called democracies - with the most prominent one as the front-runner (the US) - to ensure support for safeguarding the interests of the wealthy nations.

6. Hitler was not elected
Edited on Thu Mar-09-06 02:52 PM by rman
By means of political maneuvering and power-play he managed to convince the then German Cancelor to hand over authority to him. The very first thing he did was declare a state of emergency, and grant himself all the power of the government.
So Hitler came to power semi-legally under a democratic system - but without actually being elected, and once he was in power he turned Germany into a dictatorship.
