Question from a non-lawyer, non-account, non-business-type about Ports.
So Dubai Ports World wants to acquire Britain’s Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation. I get that. I also get that P & O has been managing 21 of our ports. Despite Britain being an ally I have to say I'm not particularly thrilled with this job being outsourced anywhere beyond the United States. But that's beside the point.

What if we said, "Okay, fine! Sure you can buy P & O. Have a nice life." and then turn around and contract with American companies for port management.

Or is that what the legislature is trying to say? I admit to being woefully mired down by this issue. I should probably be paying closer attention but my plate's full right now.
