Guess who's coming to my town today?

President Bush Visits Atlanta Today
There are going to be some really pissed-off motorists around the airport because he will be coming in at rush hour.

ATLANTA -- President George Bush visits Georgia today to speak at the Georgia Republican Party's annual Presidents Day dinner.

Proceeds from the event at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park go to the state GOP and will be spread to Republican candidates in this year's elections. The president will be introduced by Governor Perdue, who is running for re-election.

Admission starts at a thousand dollars for a single ticket and runs up to $50,000 dollars, which will pay for a table for ten and a private reception and photo with Bush.

Bush hardly has to leave Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where he is to arrive shortly after five p-m. After the event at the nearby convention center, he will leave about two hours later.

While he is here, Bush will present the President's Volunteer Service Award to Amber Davis-Collins. She served two years in Honduras as a Peace Corps volunteer. While there, she worked with women's groups in the area to improve nutrition and reduce infant mortality rates through crop diversification.

2. I'll have to see if I can scrounge up an extra $50,000
I wanna have my picture taken with him...followed shortly by my arrest photos and booking picture.

But then again, he may just be coming to check on his protege:

Perdue himself will introduce the president --- though the opportunity for pristine video footage, for use in TV ads, may have been damaged by a run-in the governor had with a wall on Wednesday, while playing racquetball. A cut above his right eye required several stitches.

"It's a pretty good gash. It's starting to swell up a bit now," said Perdue spokesman Dan McLagan.

6. Well, I think the hours between midnight and 5 a.m. could be
classified as non-rush hour.

5. $50,000?!?!
I'm surprised * doesn't have to pay people to attend, given his raging popularity and all...
