Bush Gets Close-Up Look at New Orleans
Bush Gets Close-Up Look at New Orleans

By NEDRA PICKLER
The Associated Press
Wednesday, March 8, 2006; 10:47 PM

NEW ORLEANS -- Six months after Hurricane Katrina, President Bush got a close-up look Wednesday at the mountains of debris, the abandoned homes and the boarded-up businesses that are shocking reminders of the "pain and agony" New Orleans endures still.

In the devastated Lower Ninth Ward, few residents were around to tell Bush how they felt. But two young women held up a sign for his motorcade that said, "Where's my government?" Farther up the road, a man waved a flattened cardboard box on which he had written, "Pres. cut the red tape and help us."
....
"You've got a pile of stuff here," Bush said after watching a small bulldozer push a pile of debris on a street littered with a mattress, toys, a cooking pot, several pairs of blue jeans, a box of Pasta Roni and a pair of women's underwear.

....
The Bushes also stopped at a waterfront home that is being rebuilt and the president picked up a hammer to install a light fixture.

Well, I've got a hammer

and I've got a photo op

and I've got a plane to catch
To fly me out of this land

6. Notice, in all the photos
the Clown has his shirt sleeves rolled up. I remember when it was Crisis Time last fall. Michael Heckuva Job called Bush and said, "remember to roll up your shirt sleeves, for God's sake roll them up so you look like you're hard at work".

7. Brownie didn't call blivet** with that suggestion
it was Brownie's PR person that told Brownie to roll up his sleeves. blivet** took that page out of Kerry's campaign book. He started doing that after Kerry had appeared at rallys that way.

So where did he install the light fixture?

to wear, something to play with and something to eat!! What more could they need?

Why on earth does he even bother to go there? No one expects him to care or do anything for the citizens of the US anymore ~

And the PR dress-ups are not too impressive anymore either, nor the phony, rolled-up shirt sleeves and obligatory pretend-to-be-working-like-a-regular-guy routine!

I get the impression that they only had enough acting material to last a couple of years when they arrived at the WH in 2001. Now, they're on reruns. They thought using 9/11 would be effective at least for his eight-year gig and by then they'd have carried out all their plans, with the American people sufficiently frightened and cowed to not be much of a problem.

He looks dazed, like he's thinking 'no one could have imagined our little tricks would be useless so soon after September The Eleventh'.

The stupidity of the whole cabal is what's so stunning. He could have been a real hero when Katrina happened and even won over some people, had he acted responsibly, expressed even a little concern for his fellow citizens. To not even mention the worst natural disaster ever in this country in his SOTU address!! Did he have any of the victims there the way he did after 9/11?

I hope there will be a huge memorial ceremony for the dead and missing on the anniversary of Katrina ~ for the loss of an entire city. I doubt he's planning on it, he's so totally unmoved by it all. His disconnect from it all speaks volumes about his own 'patriotism'. There's just no connection to his own people ~

18. And then bu$h* had LUNCH
For years now, I've noticed that the majority of articles about bu$h* have a highlight of what the jerk EATS.

After a tour of a devastated area, his attention is on food:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/20...

NEW ORLEANS, March 8 -- President Bush, on a Gulf Coast inspection tour that included his first visit to this city's storm-shattered Lower Ninth Ward, bluntly accused Congress on Wednesday of underfunding the repairs and called for speedy action to make good on federal commitments.

-snip-

Before visiting the Industrial Canal levee, where the Army Corps of Engineers is building 15-foot-high concrete flood walls to replace barriers damaged by Katrina, Bush toured the Lower Ninth Ward, a largely black, working-class community virtually obliterated by the storm.snip-

The trio watched as bulldozers piled rubble and loaded it onto a huge dump truck. Bush chatted and shook hands with workers, and at one point he reached into a pile of rubble and grabbed a piece of metal, which he quickly discarded.(now, that's a visual)

Meanwhile, Nagin wandered into an empty, wood-frame home and called out to Bush, "You ought to come see this." Bush then ventured inside. The president reappeared quickly and talked to other workers before returning to his motorcade, which moved through block after block of devastation.

Later, Bush stopped at a small eatery, one of the few businesses operating in the area. There, he sat at the small counter and ordered red beans and rice, cornbread, sausage, and salad, which he carried in a foam takeout container to his waiting sport-utility vehicle.

He shook hands with the family that runs the restaurant and posed for photos with Kim Stewart, 45, who boasted that she prepared the president's meal.

21. I'll bet he didn't eat the contents of that container, probably had it
tossed out as soon as he was out of sight of the local eatery. Insensitive asshole should just stay away. He's responsible for ruined lives and uses the people for photo ops. I can't possibly put into words just how much I loathe him. :grr:

What did America do to deserve this arrogant, idiot?

We didn't all get out and vote when there was still a chance for the people to win! That was America's "GREAT SIN!"
