Did anybody catch what was said about Ed Schultz on Malloy

a few minutes ago? I was on the phone and caught the tail end of it, but they weren't happy with Schultz.

1. They were saying that Schultz quickly gave up on Air America --

When he heard the station had been sold to a Christian outfit that would no longer play Air America programs -- he did nothing about it even though Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the nation and had hosted Schultz and treated him well.

Note: They were talking in 'we heard that' terms - neither had heard Schultz themselves.

3. I'm not a big fan of Schultz

But apparently he does have a following, so I won't knock him.

And I am not sure what he can "do" if the owner of a station decides to change format.

5. Emailers to Ed Schultz

asked him why he wasn't plugging the "saveairamericaphoenix.com" site like the other AAR hosts.
Ed went into a huge tirade about this wasn't the way to do things, you have to get advertisers and on and on. Apparently he missed the point that the AAR station in Phoenix was bought out by a Christian station where the Christians (and I use the term loosely) collected money in churches etc to buy the station to take AAR off the air.
Ed Schultz is played on many AAR stations. The Portland and Eugene OR stations as an example.
Ed went down to Phoenix and was hosted by the Phoenix station so I'm assuming he was also broadcasted there.

6. Yes, we get him here in Miami

And because of him, The Randi Rhodes Show is on tap delay, from 6-10 p.m.
And he likes it down here. He's been down here a few times, broadcasting.

8. Heard him promoting the website on his show the other day

He kept getting the web address wrong and was joking about that.
Couldn't he write it down?

9. he's not the brightest bulb...

...but I do think he means well. He often goes off half-cocked....solidifies his opinion on something without adequate information, or he flat out gets the information wrong. Yes, he's been heard in Phoenix on our dear departed AAR affiliate for quite some time, but I had a hard time being a fan due to his tendencies to jump to wrong conclusions. Of course, Randi and Mike have their fauts too, but nobody's perfect, including yours truly. :-)
