I wrote this book,
Maybe you should read it, or the books like it. On a Wing and A Prayer.

I think , I know, a lot of the things we are fighting for, our fathers fought for 60 plus year ago - same issues. Just warped.

Those people really had something to say that we just missed as a society - but I think, some of us got it, I hope enough of us got it to make a difference. And I pray we learned to pick the fly shit out of the pepper.

This Iraq war is so dumb, it does not even register on the scale of stupidity.

But sure as hell, those kids that are going to die over there, they are american kids- our kids.

I really think you should read these books - Those lessons passed down from 1943-44-45 - it appears we are failing to get it here.

5. I have heard of it - it must be a very good book.
There was a show a few years ago, on PBS, about the war, WWII - "Perilous Fight" and there is this stinging quote that stands out in my mind so clearly. "Maybe what we had to do here will keep our kids out of war for a few generations" - I paraphrase a little.

Those are the writers I'd listen to now - and I pray many will come forward here, I know a few.

2. Was your book published a long time ago?
The title sounds familiar, but I'm not sure if it was just an expression that I heard used around me a lot or the title of your book. When did you publish your book?

4. Released Feb 9.
On a Wing and a Prayer, frankly I took it from the 1943 song "Comin in on a Wing and a Prayer" - a really good song. Acapella swing spiritual, one of a kind type song - Four Vagabonds, 1943.

On a Wing and a Prayer - Memories of a fighter pilot and a Nurse in WWII.
Xlibris Press.

Vets groups gave me big OKs - that is the review I really cared about. A few papers gave some good reviews.

3. What book did you write?
I'd like to read it. And I've also thought the same thing, that we've lost the lessons our fathers and grandfathers learned during WWII...and Korea...and Vietnam. Actually, each time we've gone to war since WWII it seems we've moved farther away from this country's soul.

6. You are exactly right, I think.
I think they do, too.

There is hope in this country.
