Great LTTE! Wants repeal of 22nd Amendment so * can run again!
I hope all good Republicans out there will join me in a campaign to repeal the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which prevents a president from serving more than two terms in office. Because of it, President Bush will have to retire to his ranch in January 2009. It should be overturned.

We need him to serve another term, maybe two. Nobody - Republican or Democrat, not even Hillary Clinton - should have to deal with the consequences of all the messes he has made. When the chickens come home to roost, he should be on the bottom of the barn.

2. WTF?
That would be like asking the Jews in Poland to vote for Hitler on the "Baby, Gimme Just One More Chance" campaign theme.

15. I got it and almost agree with the writer
Bush and Cheney should be "at the bottome of the barn" when if finally comes down. It's a sick thought though.

3. No way. Once he's out of office, he's fair game for arrest.
Violating international law, and all. At least that's what I understand.

6. I dunno...
If he's not impeached by January 2009 (and I hope he is), I'm sure he'll give himself a presidential pardon for any potential wrongdoings to date. If he lasts through this term with his presidency intact, I'm afraid that he will never have to answer for any crimes he has committed since January 2001. :mad:

9. But didn't Pinochet lose on that argument, too?
Violate international law, if torture can be proven as condoned or promoted by *, then methinks he needs to be careful where he travels.

12. It is true, it is under the US Code: Title 18, Sec 2441 War Crimes
(a) Offense.— Whoever, whether inside or outside the United States, commits a war crime, in any of the circumstances described in subsection (b), shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for life or any term of years, or both, and if death results to the victim, shall also be subject to the penalty of death.
(b) Circumstances.— The circumstances referred to in subsection (a) are that the person committing such war crime or the victim of such war crime is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States or a national of the United States (as defined in section 101 of the Immigration and Nationality Act).
(c) Definition.— As used in this section the term “war crime” means any conduct—
(1) defined as a grave breach in any of the international conventions signed at Geneva 12 August 1949, or any protocol to such convention to which the United States is a party;
(2) prohibited by Article 23, 25, 27, or 28 of the Annex to the Hague Convention IV, Respecting the Laws and Customs of War on Land, signed 18 October 1907;
(3) which constitutes a violation of common Article 3 of the international conventions signed at Geneva, 12 August 1949, or any protocol to such convention to which the United States is a party and which deals with non-international armed conflict; or
(4) of a person who, in relation to an armed conflict and contrary to the provisions of the Protocol on Prohibitions or Restrictions on the Use of Mines, Booby-Traps and Other Devices as amended at Geneva on 3 May 1996 (Protocol II as amended on 3 May 1996), when the United States is a party to such Protocol, willfully kills or causes serious injury to civilians.
