I thought this was known already re: we knew about alQaeda
I thought it was pretty well known before now.

US knew about al Qaeda in 1990s, FBI agent says

"ALEXANDRIA, Virginia (Reuters) - The U.S. government knew by the 1990s how al Qaeda trained suicide operatives but missed capturing the man who masterminded the September 11 attacks about four years before they occurred, an
FBI agent said on Tuesday.

FBI agent Michael Anticev said in testimony at a sentencing trial for September 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui that the U.S. government knew by the mid 1990s that there were several al Qaeda training camps in
Afghanistan and other countries."

What's going on? Is it blame clenis time again? I thought it was common knowledge what was going on out there.

2. Clinton bombed several sites in Afg., but
the Repuke-dominated House and Senate (and complacent media) all started screaming about how he was trying to drive attention away from the impeachment hearings into the blowjob . . .

4. W even made light of it - "I'm not going to fire a 2 million dollar
missile at a $10 tent and hit a camel in the butt" . . .

3. Holy Deja Vu! Come on! Didn't we know about OBL when he was our ally?
Ok, he probably didn't have the official Al Queda brand name yet but who cares. These people were rotten during the Reagan administration, but then we called these terrorists freedom fighters.

Really! And today, you'll get wacked (verbally) for suggesting that one man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. Perhaps this is the greatest principle and truth of realpolitik.
