SANTA ANA, Calif. -- The inmates had to heat the letter to draw out the message, written in invisible ink. When they did, their orders were clear.

Within hours, prosecutors say, members of the Aryan Brotherhood prison gang sneaked into a nearby cellblock and killed two black inmates with handmade shanks as part of an order to "go to war" with blacks.

The deaths are two of the 32 murders and attempted murders detailed by federal prosecutors in a sweeping case against the Aryan Brotherhood, a white supremacist prison gang that has infiltrated nearly every federal and state prison.

16 could face death penalty

Prosecutors hope to dismantle the gang -- nicknamed the "Brand" -- in a series of trials that together make up what's believed to be the biggest capital murder case in U.S. history.

Hell, gangs of all kinds have been running the penitentiaries for years and years. They kill and brutalize each other, and that's just the way of men caged, I think.

Women do it, too, but not always in violent ways. Women in the slammer have a whole different way of getting back at those they don't like.

northwest, these guys were responsible for most of the crimes of murder, burglaries and robberies in the area. Wife abuse is normal with them. They consider themselves above the law because they don't recognize our government. (They should now because it's closer to their neo-nazi ideals.)

in our prisons.
My kid got in a pretty serious scrape in Texas with some chance of it extending to New Mexico. His PD told us that we should do whatever we could do to keep him from a Texas or New Mexico pen as they were ran by the Mexican Mafia. And they were notable as some of the toughest prisons in the country. Fortunately we were able to keep him out.
