Marketing and Boycotting South Dakota
Dood Abides created a satire diary at Kos titled: "South Dakota Governor Rounds Announces PR Blitz to Combat Tourism"
but there are some great ideas in it.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/3/7/72222/38482

A few snippets from the comments:
South Dakota motels have been instructed to offer complimentary coathangers to guests, wrapped in sterile paper.

"It's a sign of our welcoming hospitality," Rounds said, adding that "they always come in handy in a pinch."

The biggest tourist event in SD all year is the Sturgis motorcycle rally. It would be great if we could do a webpage about the SD boycott that came up as one of the top 10 hits when someone googles about this years' upcoming Sturgis rally.

What happens in Dakota, stays in the uterus until birth.

or

South Dakota. . . Come For The Rape. Stay For The Incest!

New state seal:

Now all the GOP needs is for Diebold to perfect the IUED, the Intra-Uterine Election Device, with the Repug Congress sponsoring legislation giving the unborn the right to vote.
I can just hear the Pre-natal attack ads, "Hillary Clinton thinks you should be killed, just for being conceived when your mother was on Spring Break in Ft. Lauderdale, but John McCain is fighting for your right to be born to an unwed teenage mother who will have to drop out of college to raise you. John McCain loves you, Cootchie Cootchie Coo"
paid for by unborn citizens for truth - a group in no way affiliated with John McCain.

Each SD woman will receive a complimentary Thighmaster, making her legs stronger so she can keep her knees together to prevent unwanted pregnancy.

South Dakota: You Call It Rape, We Call It God's Miracle
South Dakota: Saudi Arabia Minus The Oil
South Dakota: Many More Wire Hangers
South Dakota: Don't just love your daughter. Love your daughter.
South Dakota: Building The Bridge To The 19th Century
South Dakota: Women. . . The Other White Meat
South Dakota: Letting God Do The Work Of Fully-Qualified Medical Professionals Since 2006
South Dakota: We're Grrrrrrr-rape!
South Dakota: Say "No!" All You Want, But Deep Down We Know You Really Want It
South Dakota: The Uterus Bar-Coding Capital Of America
South Dakota: The Conservative Kansas
South Dakota: Come For The Adventure. Stay For The Incest!

How bout a requirement that all SD TV ads contain a 10% airtime requirement informing the consumer that they will be entering a reproductive rights free zone?

I know that you all can come up with more and better ideas.

One Boycott page set up now:

3. A fine upstanding member of the Mississippi House
arguing against allowing abortion in the cases of rape and incest, said that God does not make mistakes. That could be a bumper sticker for the zealots.

9. The idiots keep coming out of the woodwork
It seems as if the Bush misadministration has acted as the enabling factor for all the psychos and idiots in our country. It's another of the many, many ills that can be laid at the feet of Chimpy the Wonder President.

11. you are so right. On Nov. 3, 2004 the idiots slithered out with confidence
with bubble boy's so-called mandate protecting them.

Let us work hard so that on Nov. 3, 2006 they slither back under the rocks from whence they came.

(Nice sig line. :-)

13. I would argue that the member of the MS House who said that is
himself living proof of the opposite of what he claims.

16. God created a world with Roe v. Wade.
So if God doesn't make mistakes, then being anti-choice is heresy.

6. Great work
Keep it coming.

I'm laughing in spite of the fear....

Seriesly, I greatly enjoyed my visit to the Corn Palace and Laura Ingalls Wilder's homestead, and Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park and I almost abandoned a Suburban full of kids for a man I saw walking down the street in Rapid City.

But that was a long time ago. They won't get a cent of my money, nor will any theocratic state. And my state is threatened! I'm getting ideas for posters ready. It's scary.

7. Live here now for 13 years
and I still have only driven by the Corn Palace, but never gone in.

I hope someone will set up a GREAT boycott website so we can get busy creating Google Bombs.

10. I was thinking the very same thing on the way to work this morning.
I don't have the tech know-how to do it, but it's a great idea.

Mr. kcass was talking about going back to Sturgis maybe next year. I got a little vocal in my opposition.

8. SD: Protecting Rapists Reproductive Rights Since 2006!
Edited on Tue Mar-07-06 02:52 PM by Breeze54
**SD Republicans hellbent on Rapist Rights Protection Bills...
...Women as Chattle and Cattle

SD Republicans have been playing partisan political games with
women's rights vs. rapist's rights for the past year.
The Task Force on Abortion Propaganda and Theology is followed up with
intentional confusion of abstinence as personally 100% safe merged into
the fallacious idea that as a policy it is the only 100% safe one...etc.
etc. and some Republican legislator has the gaul or incredible ignorance
to say that he is insulted when a Democrat has the audacity to suggest
it is a political election year special issue.

Well, tough shit dude.
If you sleep with those dogs you will get their fleas.
Your ire is an indication of your ignorance or your guile and acting ability.
Take your pick, you should be shoveling shit in a barn or tending bar
somewhere instead of being in a legislature ignoring common sense....
