"Dockworkers Union: bigger port threat than Dubai?"
Edited on Tue Mar-07-06 02:20 PM by FLDem5
How dare they.

Educate the unwashed masses and blame the Unions - this is the Bush strategy for shoving the port deal down our throats.

(on edit: that photo is small - the words running under that man are "Dockworkers Union: bigger port threat than Dubai?"

This thread discusses John Fund's idiocy on Lou Dobbs last night.

I am really sick of labor being a scapegoat. Has anyone else heard this from other talking heads?

I am glad Dobbs shut him up. The look on his face and scorn for that theory was beautiful.

5. One of the most disgusting excuses the billionaire executive class makes
is that the fault is with the guys who want to be paid living wages to raise their families while they defend their own million dlollar salaries and multi-million dollar bonuses.

8. Well that's par for the course...
It was "a few bad apples" in the military who carried out the orders to torture civilian POWs.

Why would the ruling class indict their own?

9. Excuse, certainly. In a way it's also an excess of the execs too.
The privileged class in this country is so conditioned to believe that not even the lives of those who work and protect this country are sacred.

Their views and the lives of the idle privileged in this country is the greatest threat America ever faced. We face a huge debt to China and our industrial capacity that would have paid it off was sold to make the rich richer and us poorer.

7. actually - the National Guard was SUPPOSED to assist with Port Security
after 9/11. However, when they WERE called up, they were sent to Iraq

http://archives.cnn.com/2001/US/09/17/bush.powell.terro... /

<snip>
At the Pentagon, Bush and military officials discussed details for the call-up of 35,000 military reservists, which the president authorized last week.

"They will help maintain our air defense so they can stay on high alert. They will check shipping in ports."

15. The Wall Street Journal and its minions , like fund, hate any union.
It cuts into their profits . How dare any american want a decent wage, safe conditions, and a few benefits? Thats anti American to want such things, and deprive a few stockholders.

If the WSJ says Unions are the enemy then I must say that THEY are really the enemy of the regular American. The Capitalist cares only about the profit. They could care less about the worker or the country. Only the profit that can be made.
