Whats going on at Soda Butte?

Scroll down to the Soda Butte seismograph readings.

What ever is rumbling down there has been going on for about 4 days. Prior to March 2, it was quiet with no significant readings.

Denny's Creek was doing something similar but it stopped after about 18 hours.

3. Maybe some bear is scritching his hiney on the monitor?
That looks pretty damned strange.

We need Hawker Hurricane's dad to 'splain it all to us.

7. Havocdad was reading that there was some part of the park having
the jiggles the other day. Think there was some new ground lifting too. Sometimes there will be big die-off of trees in an area as the soil gets so hot the roots burn.

The government put in a new monitor for ground plate movement not far from me. We are a couple hundred miles from Yellowstone but it was to help them gauge movement of the magma there.

Something goin on. If it blows, I'll know before you will, but calling will prolly be outta the question.

6. I saw a lot of that kind of movement in the summer of 03'
I managed to get down there after they closed portions of Norris. We hiked through the new steam vents at Nymph Lake. It was very interesting to watch soil actually boiling.

Strangely, the Granite Vault webicorder picks up most major activity at YVO. During 03', that type of rumbling somewhere in YVO would correlate to similar rumblings at Granite Vault.
