Israeli special forces are working in Iran to locate the precise sites at which Iran continues to enrich uranium, a British newspaper reported Sunday.

According to the Sunday Times article, the Israeli team is based in northern Iraq and has the support of the United States.

Iran warned Sunday that it will will resume large-scale uranium enrichment if it is referred to the UN Security Council.

"If Iran's nuclear dossier is referred to the UN Security Council, (large scale) uranium enrichment will be resumed," Larijani told a packed news conference.

1. So Israel is admitting to an act of war--
or is this just an unfounded media report?

2. if Israel didn't want that information to come out...
...I don't think it would come out.....which makes me wonder....what kind of angle is Israel playing here? Wouldn't they be leery of going in on another misadventure with the U.S.?

3. Smells like an act of war to me.
Sending military forces into another country for hostile purposes. I hope the Iranians catch 'em.

4. Hell, they know Iran better than we ever did
They've had HUMINT assets in there since the days of the Shah. And they've never shied away from back door communications with the government of that nation, no matter who is leading it. They use each other as the designated boogeyman, but they still find ways to communicate through unobvious political channels.

As of 2005, Iran has the largest Jewish population in the Middle East outside of Israel. A large population of Iranian Jews reside in Israel with the President of Israel Moshe Katsav, the Defense Minister, former Chief of Staff Shaul Mofaz and Israeli hip-hop star Kobi Shimoni (Subliminal) being the most famous of this group....

5. Have to call 'bullshit' on this.
This article is stating information from another paper that only used "unnamed sources." Could it be true? Anything is possible. However, I find it unlikely that a covert Israeli operation would be THAT easy to uncover. If anything, this is just to "stir shit up."
