Cheney in S. Fla today for Shaw fundraiser

BY BETH REINHARD
browardnews@MiamiHerald.com

Vice President Dick Cheney will headline a Boca Raton fundraiser today for Republican U.S. Rep. Clay Shaw of Fort Lauderdale, underlining the competitiveness of his reelection campaign.
Today's luncheon for Shaw will be held at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. Roughly 200 people are expected at a cost of $500 per person.

He is scheduled to land at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport at 12:05 p.m. and depart at 3 p.m. to Naples, where he will address the Collier County Republican Party.
Cheney's visit ups the ante in what already is one of the most expensive congressional races in the country.

Shaw has $1.5 million, while his Democratic rival, state Sen. Ron Klein of Boca Raton, has $1.1 million.

1. >>"The vice president is a big draw,''
said Palm Beach County Republican Party Chairman Sid Dinerstein.<<

*snicker* big draw... quick draw... whatever...

Hmm, don't see a stop scheduled for Ms. 'I didn't know, It wasn't me, Rule of law' Harris.

5. Shouldn't they raise a DICK ALERT?
...and, by all means, send him through the metal detectors to make sure he isn't carrying a shotgun.
