Fox News: "Most dangerous issue of our time"-Iran and the Bomb
Intent to deceive and lead a nation into war is criminal conduct. Arrest these people.

Iran and the Bomb
Thursday, March 02, 2006

It's the most dangerous issue of our time: Is Iran after nuclear weapons and, if so, what can we do to stop it?

FOX News first took a groundbreaking look at this issue a year ago. Since then, the situation has grown dramatically worse.

Iran has a new president who talks of wiping Israel off the map. Tehran has resumed enriching uranium, a process that could produce a bomb in at most a few years — maybe in a few months. And the United Nations Security Council is engaged in a diplomatic tug-of-war over how to address the threat.

Join FOX News this weekend for a thorough investigative look inside Iran's nuclear program.

We'll go face-to-face with leaders at the center of this crisis, including U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld; John Bolton, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, and British Foreign Minister Jack Straw.

1. Few months?????
What crap. No sensible person who knows anything on the topic thinks they can enrich the uranium and build a bomb in a few months. Much less a few years.

3. Hmmmm...
There is one way they could, but it would bankrupt them, and make it exceptionally clear to the world what's happening. Basically they would have to cut power to the civilian population. Remember that the Manhatten Project took more electricity than Manhatten.
Anyone who gives the world the 6 months clear warning of that would have their country removed from existance.

P.S. Yes they would have to conscript a lot of labor and all their engineers too. And all their machining, manufacturing and ore resources ans IMPORTS too.

Anyone seen that happening? Strangely, according to Fox, Yes.

I'm really disturbed by that.

Really, really disturbed. I'm not kidding around.

The other nuclear powers might have something to say about that. If Yanksville goes too Wacko... shit will fly before the bomb.

You may have the most nukes of any single country, but together, you'd get Axed.
"World's only superpower" Hmmmmm...

However, don't take that as aggressive, but America should really get some perpective on how powerful your military really is. (ie. it's already overextended)

13. Let me help you understand the effects of a global nuclear war....
...several years ago a theory emerged that was named "nuclear winter". The concept involved the idea that a finite number of exploding nuclear warheads would throw enough dirt and dust into the atmosphere to create a "nuclear winter". Basically, a "nuclear winter" would create conditions under which the sun would be completely blocked, crops would fail, and billions would starve to death all across the globe.

Would you like to venture a guess as to the number of warheads needed to create a "nuclear winter"?

The answer is 100.

The U. S. has about 6000 warheads, Russia has about 4,000, and China must have several hundred by now.

Save the bravado for the playground. Nobody wins in a nuclear war.

8. More fodder for the sheep:
Olmert: Israel needs world to stop Iran

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3224198,00.html

Acting prime minister tells AIPAC conference Israel cannot curb Iranian nuclear threat on its own; American U.N. envoy: The longer we wait, the harder it will be to address Iranian threat

<snip>

"Israel cannot curb the Iranian nuclear threat on its own, Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said in a satellite speech before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee Sunday.

Countering Iran cannot be done alone, Olmert told those in attendance as he asked for the international community's help in facing the Iranian threat. The acting prime minister expressed his hope that the world, led by the United States, will impose sanctions on Iran, which he characterized as a threat to the modern world.

Meanwhile, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations on Sunday spoke at the AIPAC conference about the urgent need to confront Iran's "clear and unrelenting drive" for a nuclear weapons program.

John Bolton, speaking before a crowd of 4,500 gathered at the Washington conference, said that a failure by the U.N. Security Council to address Iran would "do lasting damage to the credibility of the council."

"The longer we wait to confront the threat Iran poses," Bolton said, "The harder and more intractable it will become to solve."

23. I had a nightmare the other night about nuclear war. I don't
recall much except that I remember seeing London, England get wiped off the face of the earth and we were all struggling to survive after the war and dying of radiation sickness and cold. I was awake enough in the dream to remember the "message" I got when they were recounting the votes in 2000, "If G.W. Bu$H takes the White House, he will take us into the worst war we've ever seen," and recall cussing him out because it came true.

Surprising, really, because in the cold light of day I always figured nuclear war would lead to MAD and there would be no one and nothing left over afterwards.

24. Have you ever read "On the Beach"
by Nevil Shute? Written during the Cold War days from an Aussie perspective. A book of fiction about people awaiting the atomic dust cloud to work its way Down Under and terminate everyone. Really a form of low level terror. Read it as a kid and it scared me then.

We need a massive uprising to stop the psycopaths in the Pentagon and in the White House.

25. Haven't read that one, and probably I shouldn't since it'd just give me
more nightmares.

Honestly, that last dream I had was clearly influenced from watching "War of the Worlds" because all these commercial jetliners just dropped out of the sky all over the place. I don't think that is consistent with nuclear warfare but it did show up in the movie.
