Small strokes for arteaméricas

The gallery showed one of the biggest talk pieces at the fair: two red fabric punching bags featuring photographic portraits of President Bush and Fidel Castro. Each punching bag is a work by Miami-based Antuan, born in Cuba. The price: $4,000. ''What surprised me is that more people were hitting Bush,'' Lally said.

This? In Miami? Oh mi!

W isn't doing well even here.

4. Wow, in MIAMI?
The Cubans were either not invited or don't "get" art shows.

Of course, Stupid did insist on those asinine travel restrictions, so that could still be causing a great deal of resentment there.

5. Bingo! Bush's travel restrictions are causing resentment.
Only a few hard liners support them. Almost every Cuban immigrant I talk to is really pissed off at the whole sanctions policies. They know who it hurts the most. Their families and friends who live there.

6. It would be great if someone published photos of the public
pounding away on the Bush punching bag. Hope the word gets around and a crowd comes out to bash Bush. He always appeared to think he had Miami eating out of his hand, too.....

Thanks, Mika.
