Now we know, just how low we can go at all levels and we want better for all. And our fears will be what drives us to fix our government. It really only needs a few tweaks, mostly campaign financing. I believe the cook has been stirred and is starting to rub the sleep from her eyes.

5. Believe it
Look at the last five years, and what do you see?

The citizenry, for whatever reasons, are disengaged and passive. We really have become that "Nation Of Sheep" that Lederer wrote about so many years ago.

I think they'll continue to get away with everything, and no one will do anything meaningful to stop them until we're in total ruin.

7. I think when you stop and look at it we pretty much are there,
I think the '06 elections are going to open some eyes big time. I've been here for six months or so reading, following links just paying attention and from it i understand my position is not very popular but i'm more convinced than ever before. For the life of me I just cannot embrace the thought that we are doomed, fucked if you will. Nope, don't buy it, ain't gonna' it either.

8. "Hope springs eternal,"
and I share it with you. I've just been around this planet a bit longer than you have - I suspect - and what I'm seeing is like nothing I've ever seen before, so I'm convinced that I know nothing about these dynamics. They are beyond belief.

I do, though, applaud your hope, and share it to the extent that I hope you're right and I'm wrong.

By the way, the '06 elections are, in terms of the American voters' memories, seven thousand years away. And we still have no stand-up Democrat who might provide leadership and a rallying point. I fear for us.

9. as my friend said one when he was like 6 or 7 years old when someone
asked me my age he piped up and said, i don't know but i do know he's older than a big tree. actually three weeks shy of 58. Yeah, you're right about the never seeing anything like this, but this is what our constitional is all about, just the first time it has been challenged in this way. Right now we are still in the Oh Shit stage, kinda been taken by susprise but like i said momma's waking up and rubbing the sleep out of her eyes and all hell is a fixing to break loose, you know how momma's can be when she's mad. As each day arrives i have new hope, hope much stronger than yesterdays.
