I think the main problem that the freepers and neo-cons have with CBS...
Edited on Thu Mar-02-06 12:07 PM by tjwash
...is that they were the network that actually exposed, and led to the downfall of, their hero Joe McCarthy. Edward R. Murrow exposed the Jr. Senator as the fascist little twerp that he actually was, and these little nit-wits have never quite gotten over that.

I love the way the RW websites, and neo-con blogosphere is attempting to flood cyberspace with the claim that CBS themselves have admitted that they used bogus numbers and slanted the poll on their hero, GWB. Of course, they can't find a legitimate source to back up their claim, and are down to resorting to rumor-mongers such as newsbusters.org, a RW neo-con site that loves to state their opinion as fact, and pepper their stories with lies, half truths and statements taken out of context. It's not unlike like my Uncle's old tactic of using the Bible, to prove that the Bible is correct.

Of course the fact that the CBS polling is based upon the actual voter registration lists, so they are going to weight their calls according the proportions of those same voter registrations does not figure into their equation as well. Of course they couldn't get enough of CBS when they were crowing about shrubs approval ratings going above *gasp* 40% a little while ago. I guess if you have lowered your standards enough, 40% is darn good.

1. The problem with the Fourth Reichists and fucking fundies is:
that they can't stand to hear accurate reporting. They don't want the truth, they want propaganda. I'm not saying CBS doesn't sometimes whore for the administration, but they do it the least of the networks that I have been able to determine so far.

3. They want someone to tell them that...
...everything is going to be just fine. When that is threatened, they tend to lash out.

Deficit through the roof? So what, it does not mean anything to NORMAL Americans. The textile plant that was the towns main employer got a sweet deal from Indonesia, and packed up and moved out in the middle of the night? What are you griping about, Walmart is hiring greeters, get off your lazy ass and quit collecting welfare.

And besides, so what if your jobs are going away? How dare you question corporate greed. What are you some kind of a pinko-commie-socialist or something? It's not like you have a god given right to a job.

As you can tell, I have a lot of freepers in my family...

2. Regardless
as some lady said on Tweety last night - it would be to their peril if they DIDN'T pay attention & acknowledge it. The lowest numbers were among the "independent" voters. Personally - I hope they try and analyze this down like they do every other issue - and make it a "non issue" and then pay the price. The Bush lovers can't handle the truth - never could and probably never will.

4. Not only that, the approval by registered republicans keeps going down.
If it were me, and I were really concerned, and didn't view the current state of politics like they were a sporting event, that's what I would be hammering, instead of wasting time by shooting the messenger.
