That's a tough one. We could maybe stomach Hastert until Jan. of 2009 - but Dick Cheney?
Oh. My. God.

11. Impeachment is a trial.
It does not mean that the person being Impeached will get fired. Even if that person did get fired no criminal charges are in force unless they are brought forth afterward.

27. Well then let's just leave * there, what harm can it do?
It didn't matter that Reagan was worse than Nixon;
Bush1 was worse than Reagan;
* is worse than his old man;
Do you really want to meet the next one?

Let's just keep letting them get away with it and hope the next one is better instead of worse.

Don't you get it??? If you keep letting the go unpunished you will just keep getting them!!!

They must be punished, severely and publicly! And we must punish as many as possible starting at the top.

Edited on Wed Mar-01-06 10:20 PM by Independent_Liberal
Sorry for the caps but something suddenly got me all riled up. You're right that they keep coming back and they keep getting worse.

Reagan-Worse Than Nixon
Bush I-Worse Than Reagan
Bush II-Need I say more?

Clearly the crimes of Watergate weren't punished to the fullest extent. Reagan and Bush Sr. both got away with Iran Contra. And what do we have now?

I wish people would get it through their heads that if these crimes go unpunished, the Bush crime family is going to keep coming back again and again.

We have to make sure we nail the bastards really good this time. If you want to put an end to the BFEE, make sure they're all prosecuted and held accountable to fullest extent.

36. it's actually even worse.
If impeachment becomes inevitable (and/or indictments of shrub/cheney come down the pike), then the following will happen.

1) Cheney resigns
2) Shrub appoints McCain / Rudy / Lieberman(!) as VP; congress approves { I DON'T envision Condi bcz she's a WHIG member and therefore tainted or possibly to be indicted herself }
3) Shrub resigns.
4) Newly appointed popular repug runs as incumbent in '08.
5) After winning in '08 thanx to Diebold/Sequoia et. al., newly elected repug pardons the entire shrub cabal.
6) End of the world as we know it and I feel shitty.

Agnew resigned (in disgrace), Nixon chose Ford, Congress approved, Nixon resigned, Ford became Pres then pardoned Nixon. And Nixon didn't pull half the shit this idiot has.

37. Doesn't matter. Let's go through them like clay pigeons.
The reason we have all these retreaded retards is that they got away with their crimes in the past starting with Nixon. This time, we the people, have to let any new future dictators and chickenhawks know that they won't get away with it again.

If Nixon did his time and Ollie North wasn't a reporter, but doing time for being a criminal, and if the rest of the disgraced staffers under Nixon and Reagan didn't come back to repopulate our government again, then a life of Republican, Christianity and crime won't appeal to the miscreants as much.

43. Even so...
Impeaching, indicting and CONVICTING the top three (and since I'm dreaming, let's include Rove in there for good measure) will at least disrupt the machine. I mean, look how quiet Rove has become since he has been 'under investigation'...haven't heard that much from KKKarl lately, have we? :evilgrin:
Hopefully, by the time the dust settles, we will have a Democratic House, newly equipped with spine and 'nads...and can go from there.

45. Confusion. Panic. Fear. Pressure. Turncoats.
An Executive branch off balance. Sudden retirements. Daily revelations. Finger-pointing in public. Deals for testimony. Delicious leaks of terrifying classified information. Republican Fatigue. More and more fingers pointed a multinationals. More and more anger at multinationals. Democratic voices getting louder and louder. Momentum. The war drags on. Desperate attempts to deflect attention via terror or war bullshit backfiring in spectacular fasion.

The power we gain from impeachment will nullify whatever evil asshat gets into the Oval. Who ever gets into the Oval will be impeached as well, as everyday the process brings out more and more evil dirt on those evil fucks. Pres. Cheney? BWahahahaha! He won't last through a Bush impeachment! Condi? She could not hold together a White House. You would see the full force of Republican prejudices fall on her head. Impeachment to Bushco would be like a bucket of water to the Wicked Witch.

Visualize Impeachment.
