Republicans used to hang war profiteers.
Edited on Tue Feb-28-06 06:33 AM by bklyncowgirl
Back during the Civil War Abraham Lincoln threatened people to tried to rip off the Union with a quick trip to the gallows.

How times have changed. Today the primary role of government is to funnel money from the taxpayers to corporations even when those corporations vastly overcharge for their services or fail to provide the services at all.

What would Honest Abe have done with Halliburton?

1. Are you kidding? Poor old Abe is probably now a resident of China,
having spun that far in his grave due to the antics of this 'republican' cohorts.

There's not much difference between organized crime and the republican party. The dems seem to be pretty much what you would call disorganized crime. Can't get their acts together enough to really pull anything off, can't get their acts together enough to really stand for anything. But either way, they don't give a rat's ass about the grass roots party members.

2. That was when the Republican Party was the party of abolition...
...this evolved (after the Civil War) into the Dixiecrat backlash...where a Southerner was dead-in-politics if they were a member of that Yankee anti-slavery Abe Lincon Republican party.

Then time passed and there were northern liberal Democrats and southern Dixiecrats.

A little more time passes and Democrats became the liberal party and the Repbulicans (both north and south) unified into the Republican party.

This only goes to show you how literally twisted politics really is.

3. Well perhaps Democrats should
take up that duty.... since the Repukes
seem so mired in their own corruption.
