Has Sharon been seen in public since his 1st stroke on 12/18?
I don't recall actually seeing him "Live" and in public. He may of been, but I had the thought that he may not of been....This would suggest he had the debilitating stroke then and they kept it under wraps until now. Just like in the movie, Dave.

1. It wouldn't surprise me if he dies sometime soon.
I think he's in much worse shape than they are letting on.

3. he's in surgery now for a cerebral hemorrhage
The Haaretz website makes it seem pretty dramatic -- and final -- for Sharon's reign as PM.

7. Do you think that he never really recovered
from the 12/18 stroke? Do you think they kept his disabling status a secret until they could coordinate a transfer of power? Do you think this is not really the 2nd stroke but the finale of the 12/18 stroke?

2. he probably won't survive the night
cerebral hemorrhage and he has not been seen since 12/18. The plan was that he'd have surgery tomorrow but I'm not sure he left the hospital. They all have doubles to hide these things.

21. DOUBLES yet? Oh help. They had plans in place to
transfer power days ago, after the first stroke.

These conspiracy theories are getting more than a little old.

24. Fine. That isn't the point. The point is even when a person
is sick, up pop the conspiracy theories.

Now excuse me while I go check my long green draconian tail.

25. you apparently cared enough
to post a silly conspiracy theory about doubles. So my guess is that you do give a damn, you just don't like Sharon and you've got tinfoil poisoning.

5. okay, in the movie Dave there was a "double" for the president
Since no one is suggesting that a double has been walking around claiming to be Sharon for the past two weks, what would have been the purpose be for keeping Sharon under wraps and now letting the info out?

9. They announced back then that he would
have surgery on 1/5/06 and it is passing strange that he suddenly takes a turn for the worse hours before that surgery with what reports call 'massive bleeding on the brain' and a massive stroke.

17. He was photographed a public appearance earlier today
Kinda puts a crimp in the conspiracy theories, but I'm sure it won't stop the sale of tinfoil around here. By the way, exactly why is it so "passing strange" that a 77 year old man who recently had a mild stroke would have another stroke. The heart surgery was announced back over a week ago and was to correct what the doctors felt was a minor birth defect in his heart. He was photographed leaving the hospital after the mild stroke in mid-December and on several occasions since then, including as indicated, at a public ceremony held earlier today.

22. Thank you. Some reality for a change.
Also in case people haven't noticed, PM Sharon wasn't exactly a slimfast model AND the stress of his job has been enormous.

I really think these conspiracy theories are beyond disgusting.

6. Yes I saw a picture of him leaving the hospital and the bad news is...
This may be an opening for Netenyahoo. I don't know who they would put up to run inplace of Sharon and it seem inevitable that they will have to do this now but Netenyahoo is running on the Likud ticket and god forbid he could be the next Prime Minister of Isreal and then watch what happens. Yikes

18. and that was that substitute photographed today at a public appearance
Wow, at least I know where to look if I'm ever short of tinfoil. Sharon has appeared in public on several occasions since his mild stroke in mid-December, including a public ceremony today. If you think Dave is real, you better not go see King Kong or you'll spend the rest of your life looking over your shoulder for the 25 foot ape.

8. "It looks very bad. I don't know if he will recover," the source said.
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was taken for surgery on Wednesday after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage, the director of Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital said.

"The diagnosis is cerebral hemorrhaging. In light of this, the prime minister has been taken to the surgical ward," Dr. Shlomo Mor-Yosef told reporters. Sharon was in critical condition and may not recover, a senior political source said.

12. I just read where the TV reports in Jerusalem are reporting it as a minor
...stroke.
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was taken to hospital on Wednesday after suffering a second mild stroke in less than three weeks, Channel One television quoted a doctor as saying.

I guess they didn't know that the severity of his condition had already leaked out to international news.

That's why when I saw this on Reuters I went, wha? No, they didn't just say that? But, as it turns out someone did. That doctor was not in the loop that's for sure.

I can't remember what the event was, exactly--I think he was returning to his office after a few days of recovery from the preivious incident. He looked wan, but up and moving.

20. Sharon cut out public appearances...
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/666405.html

<snip>

"Over the past two weeks, the Israeli public has monitored with curiosity and concern Sharon's struggle with his health, and possibly for his life, as well as his attempts to return to work and show that he is returning to a normal level of activity. His daily agenda was lightened, and as per his doctors' suggestion, he cut out public appearances and meetings outside his office.

Yesterday, Sharon convened a security meeting at the village of Ghajar, on the Lebanese border, and appeared at a Bank Leumi ceremony. He acted normally at both events, according to participants. In the afternoon he went to rest at the Sycamore Ranch, ahead of the cardiac catheterization procedure planned for today."
