Now, has everyone got this straight: it's "The Long War"
The "war on terror" is passe now my friends, and I have brought you all hear tonight to inform you that from now on, we are to refer to the Damage Plan as "The Long War". (http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/011/909rqgza.asp)

This war, not short in duration, is a fight for the very survival of our society, a struggle with the forces of evil determined to extinguish modernity.

So let's no more with this "terror" thing. So limiting in scope. We need to sweep everything up. Things both related, and not.

Our children and grandchildren will sing songs of our great victories to come in this Long War. Of course, this Long, Long War will require more and more money, and greater and greater war spending, but be scared! For enemas lurk around every corner.

It's useless to fight it; the Dems are in control, you repugs are no longer viable,

2. Hurm.
"...forces of evil determined to extinguish modernity."

Sounds like something I would say about religious fundamentalism... or the Republican party.

Sorry. Don't let me sidetrack things....

4. I think it is telling that the one person this asswipe quotes
is from the DLC.

Is the DLC supposed to be sharing the neocon agenda?

12. Missed what?
I was not disagreeing at your interpretation of the new spin. I was simply commenting on the absurdity of the DLC supporting it.

8. Marshall Wittman.
Edited on Sat Feb-25-06 02:16 AM by NCevilDUer
As Marshall Wittmann of the Democratic Leadership Council observed last week, "We are in the midst of a jihadist offensive. The bombing of Askariya Shiite Shrine is another indication of the world-wide jihadist offensive against the West. From the cartoon jihad to the Hamas victory to the Iranian effort to obtain nuclear weapons to the attempt by al Qaeda to foment an Iraqi civil war--our enemy is taking the initiative. And the West is on its heels."

Wittmann continued, "Many mistakes have been made since 9/11. But at the end of the day, we should recognize that we are all Americans and part of the West that is under assault by a truly evil foe. Our bravest are on the front lines in this war. The least we can do at home is to demonstrate some moral seriousness that the moment demands."

The article was written by William Kristol.

Take a look. It's a disturbing read.

On Edit: OOPS. Sorry, Babylonsister. Replied to myself instead of to you.

:hi:

she is totally indoctrinated. If that quote does not prove that the DLC is a repuke operation I don't know what does.
