Time Favors Liberals
Just remember, folks.

As time goes on, year after year, the enitrety of the population becomes more liberal. Each generation of children grows up in a world that is more widely accessable. There is already a generation of children that don't even understand racism because they grew up in completely mixed communities. High speed internet will get cheaper and more children will gain access to it. Pop culture is of course always liberal, and children always rebel against their parents to embrace the new and scorn the old. Absolutely nothing can stop Progressiveness. Nothing. As long as there is progress, there is Progressiveness. Its in our human nature, its undeniable.

I have to remember that too sometimes to keep fighting. Look at the past and all we've done.

3. It is the best of our human nature.
Progress seemed like three steps forward over many decades; it just took a few years to take two steps back.

As long as we can get verified voting, I have faith our country will survive. (Otherwise, all bets are off.)

5. Not necessarily true. sorry to say.
carter was followed by 8 years of hellish reagan. In 2000 bush got many youth votes (of the few who voted). all those youth of the 1960's 70's grew up and voted for bushie (well, many did).

Just saying this is not a natural process. Not like watching an ice cube melt in a glass of water. We gotta make things happen!

13. True, but there is a bigger picture beyond a few decades
including some regressive presidents. In the long run, I won't be likely beating my kids "'till blood shone" like my great grandfather was. I won't have to shoot a klansman from the barn like my grandfather did. ...not that we don't have to be constantly vigilant - it's true that there are many conservatives in this coutry who'd take to Fascism like a fly to shit...

19. also, a world beyond the US
the world has gotten more liberal (and better). There are way too many atrocities taking place because the world has not done enough to prevent them, but I dare say there are less atrocities as each, say, half century passes.

Way too many people are still left out, but worldwide, education, healthcare, rights, tolerance, justice, equality -- way, way better than they used to be for large numbers of people.

14. It is because they marry cousins
And sisters, that they are so easily manipulated by republicans. Explains why they are so dead set against abortion.

10. If only that were so
I can hardly believe it but my kids meet more Conservatives than I ever did. More and more born again, evangelical and just plain ultra-religious folk are inhabiting neighborhoods. Back in the day religious folk kept their beliefs to themselves without trying to impose it on others but now there are all kinds of church sponsored recreation nights, retreats, and parties to woo young people with all that good clean fun. Hey, I'm a mom, I got nothin' against good clean fun but I do object to the political agenda that goes along with it (gays are bad, war is good, Bush is a Christian president). So no, I can't agree that time is favoring us. If anything time is working against the liberal agenda because the democratic party is furiously scraping it off its shoe like a bad stink as we type.

15. Remember, "old fashioned" changes definition over time
Soon, Rap will be played on the oldies stations ...

Think about it.

Doing it "the old way" will eventually mean what liberals/progressive value today.

20. Honestly
I'd say it is a natural part of evolution of the brain.

Most of what liberals stand for comes about as a result of evolution in our thinking. We think in a more perfect and enlightened manner. We care about others, the environment, the poor . . .

Caring behavior and longing for the improvement of humanity is something that only the enlightened can do. Other people simply say, "Yo, don't care bout them fools o'er there. Just kill 'em!"
