Edited on Fri Feb-24-06 08:30 PM by Nutmegger
Analysis of financial disclosure forms by CNN in June 2003 revealed that at least 40 of the then senators were millionaires.

6. I'm surprised it's not 100%.
Nowadays, almost anyone who's been successful in business, law or even government administration has put together a sizable equity. A million dollars is not nearly what it was when the term "millionaire" became part of our language and mythology.

7. i may be wrong but i heard Bu$h is worth 2 billion, and his job as Governor
of texas was the first real job he ever had.. he only made about average interest on his $660,000 team investment over about 10 years, the other owners all pitched in $12,000,000 for him.. which amounted to illegal campaign contributions cause he then ran for Governor.. in a state where the legislature only meets a few months every 2 years.. so it wasn't much of a job, he had a lot of time to execute the 152 prisoners..

the no child left behind program he started in Texas that is now destroying our educational system was a total fraud, the miraculous statistics that proved it a success was later revealed to not count the dropouts which amounted up to 45% in some places..

9. That's much lower than I expected
I would have expected that their house in their home state and their place in DC alone would put almost everyone over the top.
