SUMMERDALE, AL -- Among the pastures and homes along Baldwin County 32, rows of more than 1,000 travel trailers and mobile homes sit parked in what looks like a gigantic manufactured housing lot.
They are not for sale or for local use, but will become residences for hurricane victims as part of a regional distribution system by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, officials said.
The FEMA staging facility on Baldwin County 32 is one of about 10 locations around the Southeast where housing units are being stored and prepared for transport to victims of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma, said Pete Thompson, FEMA logistics section chief and site director.

You'll be glad to know that all the trailers are still safely there.
There's a security guard in the guardhouse at the entrance.
He eyed me suspiciously when I pulled in to take a look and then turn around and leave.
