An officer with Washington, D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) ordered the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic to silence our voices tonight at our weekly support the troops demonstration outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

The officer cited complaints from the neighborhood about the noise our voices make as we chastise the so-called antiwar protesters across the street at the main gate to Walter Reed.

Several months ago, Code Pink left fliers at the doors of residences near Walter Reed encouraging them to call the police to complain about our vocal exercising of our First Amendment rights.

We understand the complaints of those who live in the neighborhood, however our demonstration would be crippled if we were silenced.

They are some 25 years older than we are. He has a PhD and she has at least a bachelor's. The wife, who has been ailing lately, still managed to get off a quick snerk at "the ACLU" and how evil it supposedly is.

Terri Schavio? Remember that? Of course they would. I remember there was a girl I'd say in her twenties or early thirties who got a call from the hospice her grandfather was dying so she rushed over and all the security from the "protestors" making a rucus with themselves kept her from seeing her grandfather before he died. If you want to "support the troops" like they say they do why don't they encourage the republicans to give the veterans what they need with hospitals instead of closing them down?

What do they mean, they "stop using their loud voices"? That sounds exactly like a public school kindergarten teacher! I've heard it a million times: "Okay, everyone, now remember, we're indoors, so use your inside voices, not your outside voices".

The freeptards are unwittingly identifying with people they pretend to despise: public school teachers (or daycare workers)... you know, those awful people who capture the children for the communist state, so they can "indoctrinate" the children early.
