1. And Slidell the day before
I lived in one of the neighborhoods in Slidell he had pictures of. Often ate at Vera's on Rat's Nest Road overlooking the twinspan bridge on the way to New Orleans. Pontchartrain Drive from town down to the highway 11 bridge is still destruction four months later. I worked in New Orleans and often had lunch at Rocky and Carlo's in Chalmette. Incredibly sad.

2. It just may work out for the best for you after all
I saw somewhere where Rocky and Carlo's was thinking of reopening: in Pearl River, or -- get that bottle of hot sauce ready! -- in Picayune itself! Can't seem to find the link at present, though.

Mmmm, that whole Rude Pundit thing is rather tasty. Love that haiku (they are truly haiku, not senryu, because hurricanes are associated with the season of summer)!

3. R&C may relocate
Edited on Wed Jan-04-06 03:56 PM by BOSSHOG
on Highway 43 south of Picayune not far from our home; however, I hope they have plans to eventually reopen in Chalmette. I'd rather go eat at their home. Their proposed relocation would be like moving the Liberty Bell to Birmingham.
