Please un-FReep this poll
http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/news/statehouse/060104parties.shtml
A Democratic legislator unenrolled from the party to boost her book sales so there is now an even split. It takes a two-thirds majority to change the leadership in the middle of a term, but the GOP wants to force the Dems into a power-sharing arrangement. Please hit the poll and vote NO. Our local FReep force has already hit it pretty hard this morning...

Thanks!

3. These sick assholes have such disdain for rules and order
And they never compromise. They want it all.

If they get their "power-sharing", I am guessing it will lead to a complete Republican takeover of the state.

7. Their goal is to stall the Democratic agenda and get an R elected Gov
We have managed to pass a civil rights law (which voters upheld), Dirigo Health - a controversial but effective health care plan for low-income Mainers and are about to approve another $5,000,000 in funding for heating assistance. The GOP hasn't had the governor's office since the disaster that was Jock McKernan (Mr. Olympia Snowe) finally left office in 1994. How much did people in Maine hate Jock? When the University of Maine won the NCAA Division I hockey championship in 1993 about 10,000 students and locals packed Alfond Arena...when Jock was introduced to make a proclamation the crowd became so hostile that two state troopers standing next to me wondered aloud if the governor was safe in the building. Allowing the GOP to "share" power would be a disaster for the state of Maine. I just hope our leadership stands up to the bastards today.
