When Cheney shot his buddy, Teresa Kerry should have immediately said:

"The only thing I can conclude is that this is NOT a good man."

But the Kerrys never had very good political timing nor sharp senses of humor.

1. 1. nobody in the press asked her 2. why would they? 3. I am sure
she probably said something to somebody, but we'll never know. It might have been even wittier than what you said. But it was probably some expression of sympathy for Whittington, because she is a ***Good Woman** 4. strangest post I've ever read on DU, and I've read some strange ones 5. have a wonderful evening!

2. Huh? You're so pleased with your "joke", it's now the standard of humor?
Jeez, what a vain and gratuituously snarky post!

6. And that matters why?
They're still legally married and you can always tell they're in love with their actions towards each other. They're a very passionate couple as anyone who sees them knows.

9. I don't know
that it matters. I just find it curious that she dropped the Kerry name after the election.

12. In our country, wives of men running for office are forced to...
Edited on Sat Feb-18-06 09:26 PM by I Have A Dream
include their husbands' last names as part of their own or it hurts their husbands. It's ridiculous that they have to do this, so it's completely understandable to me that she'd go back to using her preferred name.

18. I agree with you but Heinz is not her name
it is her first husband's name - as you say her preferred name - and I have always sensed that she has never gotten over him. Or maybe she prefers that name because it is her children's name - have no idea and it is none of my business but I was always kind of curious about it from John Kerry's perspective....wonder if it bothered him.

15. Is Mary "Mary Carville" or "Mary Matalin"? Just curious.
Edited on Sat Feb-18-06 10:26 PM by WinkyDink
(I got the Lynne allusion, BTW. Didn't "get" the point about the name change.)

Because I did not see the last line. It was way down there. Then I still don't get it. Did she say that one time or something?

What does she have to do with anything related to this?

13. Perhaps better might have been
"My husband was vilified by the Swift-Boaters for chasing down and shooting a real "enemy combatant" but the right wing says we should ignore the VP shooting a friend".
