How gay-friendly is Columbus, OH
as a place to live?

My son's roommate has just announced he's moving to Columbus in May and told him that Columbus is "the San Francisco " of the midwest. Anyone else familiar with Columbus having that reputation? I'm 54 and I've never heard Columbus referred to that way.

Thanks for your comments, DU.

4. I have tried to get my son to move back to Columbus for that very reason
and he lives in Cincy too. Why, I do not know.

3. Quite.
Yes, I have also heard it described that way. The neighborhood that I live in is predominately gay and everyone here is quite liberal-minded and certainly gay-friendly.

5. Born and raised in Columbus
it is indeed gay-friendly, particularly German Village, Victorian village(the Short North),and Clintonville (I've lived in two of those three neighborhoods).
