Letterman has WAY bigger Balls than Jon Stewart - Flame away but it's true
I have seen O'lielly on both of their shows and Letterman just kicked ass.

1. Letterman's a lot more established too
He's got the invulnerability that Stewart doesn't

8. And with CBS splitiing from VIACOM
I bet Dave is making a bundle on the deal. He might even be in a position to hold the controlling shares.

6. But Letterman is on CBS and Stewart's on Comedy Central
which you have to weigh as well.

Stewart could condemn the Bush Administration alot strong than he does, but he always backs down and says "but I'm just a comedian on a cable Comedy Network!"

2. Letterman's one of the top political interviewers out there
and his stuff would stand up extremely well on some MSM "news" show.

He'll be just as hard on a Democratic stuffed shirt.

31. got that right
he always asks the questions I want the answers to - no games about it - he just asks the questions everyone else is afraid to ask.

7. That's true and I'll go you one further...
Letterman is one of the smartest people on TV. Yes, I am serious. If you've seen him interview some of the more "serious" guests, you can tell. If you just simply listen to the way he speaks, you can tell.

There's no way Dave would ever host a news talk show, but I bet it would be a damn good show if he did.

11. I have grown to really appreciate Dave Letterman
I respect the man. His decency and humanity is evident more
so in his later years, than his early days. He's like a fine
wine.

25. Dave has quietly done very good things in Indiana for years.
He may do it elsewhere, as well. I read years ago, that
his only condition when he donated to different causes
was that it was not made public.

One weird little tidbit...my brother is a purveyor of junk.
He hits a lot of auctions. Anyway, he is the proud owner
of one of the overhead lighting fixtures from Atlas Grocery,
where Dave worked as a bag boy back in the 60's. He's trying
to work up the nerve to write Dave, and see if he wants it.

30. Dave would probably put him on the show
with that light...

or your brother could auction it on ebay..:)

thanks for the info on Dave's kindness, I'm not surprised
but it's sure nice to read about.

13. Jon Stewart really didn't have to skewer O'Reilly
If you remember, the audience did it all for him. Jon just sat back like a spectator as Falafel Boy insulted the audience then they let him have it. Then of course He goes on his own show and bitches about Jon Stewart being part of the phony War on Christmas. Tomorrow, he'll probably be saying all kinds of shit about Letterman too. The thinnest skin in TV, no doubt.

Once in a while he will have a lame mild attack on Dems, but 90% of the time hes ripping Republicans apart.

17. they both got balls
and it is obvious now to almost EVERY AMERICAN who hasn't been raptured or waiting for it that the neoCONs and their supporters are the fucking crazies who used to be parodied on the big screen actually driven the bus.

they used to say in a generation past, that when you lose cronkite you lost the public... well in todays generation it will be said that when you lost Dave you lost the public :bounce:

the only question is how far these freaks will take it?

:nuke:

peace

22. Problem is Dave and Howard Stern and Jon Stewart couldn't help
the election. We are so screwed they are gonna steal more elections this year. Dave cracked me up before the presidential election where he played a bumbling bush clip and then giggled and said almost under his breath "I'm really gonna miss that guy". Too bad bush is still around.

26. Jon is a joke. Colbert would have brilliantly ripped him a new one!
Edited on Wed Jan-04-06 12:44 AM by sleipnir
Colbert is the only voice left on that channel. The proof is that his show is 10 times better than that tired old rag called "The Daily Show." Time to put Jon-boy out to pasture and let Colbert take over, at least the show would be watchable.
