said that Cheney's statement that he only had one beer would stand unless or until someone would contradict that. Now isn't that special...the statement becomes the truth presuming no one comes forward to contradict it. Wouldn't the 18th Century philosophers be impressed!
beer. Judges always laugh when they ask the question "how much had you drank?" "Oh, one or two beers". There's just as much alcohol in 1 beer as 1 shot of whiskey.
2. Well, as many DU'ers have pointed out, that's what everyone says, 1 beer.
"Officer, I *only* had one beer."
"But I *only* had one beer."
Et cetera. Makes one suspicious that it was more than *only* one beer. We'll never know, will we, because he refused to make himself available for a breathalyzer.
8. Usually (but not always) true... Other factors could be involved
Some people are affected by alcohol harder by others... I've heard stories of people blacking out form only one drink.
His physical condition could affect his susceptibility too... Was he tired, or ill? Or maybe their was a bad interaction between that beer and his medications.
Or he was outright lying about only having one beer. If this is proven, it won't be a "lie". He had only one beer; then he had 5 more.
