2. before 9/11, NO publisher would have approved a novel whose plot

included: the patriot act, lying us into war, illegal wiretapping, cronyism, etc, etc, --it would have been deemed completely implausable. yet more proof that truth is, indeed, stranger than fiction, which at least has to make SOME pretense of being believable.

A corrupt majority leader, his vast network, the "K Street Project", Abramoff, Mohammed Atta, Suncruz and the mob hit, last minute promotions to the Justice Dept. :wtf:

If someone had submitted this as a screenplay, they would have been laughed out of the office as a "conspiracy nut", or worse.

laughed it out of the box office. I can just hear the viewer comments now. "I don't mind suspending belief, but this movie asked too much of me."
