When will the TRUTH about outsourcing be told? (they can't...)
Especially to repubs and libertarians, the parties that claim outsourcing is good, until it affects their own wallets... then it's "Why meeeeeeeeeee?"

Corporations have said everything EXCEPT the obvious regarding the reasons for offshoring. The obvious being personal profits.

Hell, corporations haven't even said anything that the libertarian nitwits always froth over - which is tantamount to "I am the owner of a business so I can do what I want because that is freedom."

Yet corporations see fit to lie to everybody instead:

"Americans are dumb". Well, the high school grads might be, but I didn't get them addicted to video games and ipods. (credit cards too...) Corporations did.

"Americans are uneducated". Well, prices keep skyrocketing and this ensures education cannot be had by the masses.

"America must be competititve". Well, lower the prices of necessities (food, housing, EDUCATION), to match the cost of the wants and the damn problem is solved. Just like how India and all the other countries (who are surrounded by terrorist nations  ) have their price issues under control... $5/day is a goldmine to THEM.

-----
The real truth is, it's corporate greed. Period. They won't even tell the truth that would make the republicans and libertarians feel better. And we all know repubs and libertarians make a brave noise. But when it affects them PERSONALLY, they'll drop their values more quickly than you'd drop a recently used flamethrower! And, quite frankly, politicians still need the votes - hence the continuing lies. Hell, it's easy to want to feel convinced there's a future these days...

But we all know the dollar is going to drop. So more of our "patriotic" CEOs will convert to the Euro and may or may not insult the Dollar in the process, just like how a certain overrated exec had done a year ago...

But what happens then? Do the executive class leave the US and leave the empty shell to disintegrate, or endeavor to do worse things; things even I would rather not want to think about?

So what's going on? For real?

1. But, the "free market" has such a nice ring to it.
And, if you happen to be wealthy, or your daddy is wealthy, it will work for you. Being, white, American, and male is also helpful.

2. Economics has been seperated from society
In a macro sense, economics is how the systems we use to exchange goods and services works.

Economics, when seperated from the social context, is harsh, cruel and ruthless. The only way capitalism can work is for the economic principles of private enterprise to be guided and restrained by others social valuies. Such as the ability to make money, if you create jobs that enable others to also make money.

The problem is for the last 30 years, the economic half of the equation has been pushed at the expense of the social half.

Thus, driving down the cost of labor and standard of living of the majority is seen as a good thing, if it results in highger profits.

What the Accountant mentality also misses is the fact that ultimately, the social side is also vital for the economic side. In otehr words, you lose your market of consumers when you get too greedy and screw the very people you want to buy your products.

Hopefully, at some point that basic truth will sink in, and people will stop being sheep and following the Corporate herders so blindly.
