According to the DU rules, I can request a new DU group by explaining the purpose of the group in a post, and getting at least 10 responses from people who would be interested in such a group. Sooo..here's my group idea:
I found DU right after the 2002 elections, and by 2004, the dem underground had inspired me to track down the local democratic party and join up! A few months ago I was elected vice-chair of the local democratic party, and this morning we had a huge meeting to begin seriously laying the groundwork for sweeping victories in November. I'm in a very very very very red area though, and there is not a large supply of experienced democrats. The experienced dems we do have are wonderful and we have a growing supply of NEW democrats so things here are not all bad, but I could use more help.
I would love it if DU would have a group where people who have expertise with positions like presiding commissioner or advice on how to run a local campaign could come and share your wisdom with those of us who could really benefit from your experience.
I have to go to work, but I will check back as soon as I get home tonight. I'm hoping there are at least ten of you out there that see this as a useful forum idea!
