Look who's names got linked to mine in a ltte
His letter:
"Some people have nothing to fear"
The so-called spying of President Bush is for the purpose of intelligence gathering.
With that in mind, former President Jimmy Carter, Sen. Ted Kennedy, Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, Mr. Regl, Mr. Essex and Mr. Keyes should not worry about their conversations being monitored.
Bill Coulter,
Doyline, La.

My reply sent to the Hattiesburg American this a.m.:
In reply to Mr. Bill Coulter's letter, "Some People Have Nothing To Fear" published on Feb. 11th, I am proud to have my name linked with Pres. Carter, Sen. Kennedy, Gov. Blanco, Mayor Nagin, Mr. Keys and Regl. We have all made a concerted effort to bring to public view the inadequacies of the current corrupt Administration and each his own way have tried to enlighten the general public on a national context and the readers of The Hattiesburg American on a more local level, to the lies, misstatements and talking points sent out by this cabal as opposed to the Republican methods of denial, secrecy and just shooting the messengers.
Your letter will forever link together the words Bush, intelligence and Coulter in my oxymoron dictionary.

2. What seems odd to me is this
We should not care if we get wire tapped if we have done no wrong, we are told, so why does that not work with the WH that had hid every paper it can lay its slimy hands on and said it is private. I can now see why Bush said he would not E-mail after he got into office or some one said he had stopped. He knew he was going to pull the Nixon thing on any one that did not go along with him, and be fore ever into their business.

3. Exactly, here's the ltte that got this guys panties in a wad:
published Feb. 6

It's refreshing that there is such an air of openness in the Bush Administration. Mr. Bush and his team of specially appointed legal advisers in Washington have welcomed investigations into a number of possible missteps by his crew. There are Congressional committees looking into the Government's failures regarding Katrina, the misdeeds of uber-lobbyist Jack Abramoff, the outing of a CIA agent and soon they will start looking into the legalities of spying on American citizens without legally obtaining warrants.
The only hitch to this little breath of fresh air is the Government's complete refusal to give to the investigating committees the legal opinions in document form that they are using to back up all of their claims of legality. Their favorite refrain is to say, "we have told you in public that it is our opinion that it is legal and so we do not have to provide anything else other than that". Their stance is that the documents are either classified or they will not add anything more to what has been already stated at some press conference. These people who are issuing these statements are handpicked lawyers working for the Executive branch and are refusing to turn over documents to investigating committees that are headed up by Congressional members of their own party.
Since Mr. Bush acquired the Presidency, his administration has classified more documents than any previous administration. The committees that are looking into anything that Mr. Bush's team may have done wrong will just have to be satisfied with "trust me".
Very soon we should expect the newly redesigned Supreme Court to render decisions without having to issue opinions from the Justices. Roe vs. Wade? "Struck down because we said so. Next case."

5. Thanks
I keep saying I'm gonna quit writing ltte and then something catches my eye and I can't help myself. It is kind of cathartic, otherwise I think my head would explode on a daily basis.
