Dobbs, Tweety follow the Yellow Brick Road!
I heard Dobbs earlier talking about Libby and now Tweety is doing the same thing.....they're discussing "in depth" whether it was Legal for Cheney to "declassify" information or to authorize Libby to release classified information to reporters.....and, if so, does this get Libby off the hook?

Did they forget? Or are they or are they just plain stupid....????

Libby was never charged with releasing classified information. No! Libby was indicted for LYING TO THE GRAND JURY, AND FEDERAL PROSECUTORS~ That Cheney gave him "permission" to out Valerie is irrelavant!

But nooooooooooo.....the talking heads go happily tripping down the yellowbrick road....

1. How does the Vice-President of the United States have permission
to declassify information? Especially without anyone's approval?

Just asking.

2. I think, at least in Tweety's case, that the concern is Cheney, not Libby
In other words, is Cheney in legal hot water because of Libby's claims that Cheney authorized him to leak Plame;s identity

"interesting stuff here, its getting to the top." is how he ended his interview w Sauber, Matt Cooper's attorney.

3. Remember the days when vice-presidents didn't do anything more
taxing than attend funerals of heads of state?

4. Remember the days when the Vice President wasn't the REAL President?
You know, back when Presidents had IQ's over 12?

5. Remember the days when a person needed to show
some competence in foreign affairs BEFORE he was consider a viable candidate for President?

Now he just needs to know the difference between draft and a micro-beer.

6. Matthew's has often brought up
it's no defense for charges against Libby.

Look, it's fun and justified to bash the press but if you watched Dobbs there was something more important. Did you see the panel with other journalists, bashing the administration and themselves? They all agreed on the administration being the worst (except at campaigning) but Dobbs was strongest at blaming press. In response to someone saying they are still electable (that's not the phrase but the essence) Dobbs said if that's true it's because of shows like his and papers like theirs. He was angry that the press lets all these things go by, giving too much deference, that people know better then that.

If people can catch rerun or when transcripts come out that alone is worth seeing/reading.

But Dobbs was complaining before the last election about how the press was being used as part of psy-ops on the American people, something that is suppose to be used on the enemy, not your own press and people.
