Happy New Year: The Year of the Citizen
Edited on Sun Jan-01-06 10:44 AM by MH1
I posted this at my blog, and thought I'd share it with you all. (It's short, this is all there is, you don't have to "click to see more.")

I want to wish all my readers a happy, healthy and productive year in 2006. I hope we will work together to bring real, positive change to America and to our nation's role in the world.

There is much to be done, but it will be rewarding work. Two inspiring quotes come to mind:

Margaret Mead:

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

John Kerry:

There is no more important word in the American language, other than love, than citizen.

Let's make 2006 the Year of the Citizen.

I'd like to add, for this audience: we can take back our government this year, we can make significant strides in taking back the media, and we can start to revitalize the notion of citizenship in this country.

It's on us to make it happen.

1. Year of the pig? (technically it's year of the dog and that's better...
for pigs are greedy and dogs just want to screw.)

2. So are you saying that
Edited on Sun Jan-01-06 10:56 AM by MH1
"citizen = pig" ???

:wtf:

And folks wonder why they lose elections. (I started to say "Democrats" but I'm not claiming you. And sorry if I'm humor-impaired this morning, the op was serious, and your post is in extremely poor taste.)

5. Thanks...
This is certainly the approach I will take this year, in my own political activities. I think it would be a good message for Democrats as a party, but then, what do I know?

6. You're welcome!
Not finding many takers so far today, though.
